That's how you draft to re-build a D. Lynch should take notes.

AND they just fired their GM/HC and gave up a top 13 in this upcoming draft.

Pierce was dogs**t vs the run, surely wasn't worth 2 1sts. He's Floyd 2.0. From what I saw with Walker it wasn't anything special. Good football player but people in here were trying to call him freaking Parsons or something.

ATL's D gave up more pts per game than SF. While I don't always agree with Lynch and have no problem getting a real GM in here. The Falcons aren't the blueprint lol

I'm not saying ATL is the blueprint at all. I'm saying that even bad teams have good drafts. They nailed that draft. Billy Bowman was making plays before he got injured too. That draft is more to reference what we needed and who we took and who we passed on. Like every other year under Lynch.

Put those 3 guys on the team instead of Mykel, Collins and Stout and our D is much better IMO.

As for Pearce, everyone knows he isn't good vs the run but that's not his job. His job is to get after the QB and he is very good at that. Bryce Huff and Sam O are not good at setting the edge either and Pearce would have been a huge upgrade over them both.

Walker was very good. He will be a nice chess piece and probably more impactful than Mykel Williams.

Our run D would be trash. I get where you are going but don't go there with Mykel. He had a huge impact.

I really hate to ask but it needs to be asked…

Are either of them minorities?

Yes, and I love it because it benefits the 49ers with a comp pick if they become GMs in other organizations.

Multiple comments above already pointed out the flaws above

Those defensive picks were so good the Falcons sucked worse than our D
-HC fired
-GM fired
-Gave up #13 overall pick for a 1 dimensional DE

Would our D be better with those 3 guys or the guys we took?

It would be worse...

The weakness on our D is run stopping

We drafted specifically to fix it (and I liked our draft for that)

You would replace Mykel with Walker
And Alfred Collins with all 240 lbs of James Pearce

Out defense would give uo 200+ rushing yards a game

It's a moot point James Pearce was drafted before Collins so he was never an option. Now Xavier Watts would've been a huge upgrade at safety.

That is why I asked.
We have the best QB in the division so let us give him time to cook. Gotta invest in OL and DL because SEA outclassed us in both areas last week so back to the Harbaugh/Singletary way of team building

If we getting picks because dudes are "colored" I am all for it because others have benefitted so why not us? We need more picks so we can get more young hitters

Williams is gonna get the gig IMO.

Lbs and safeties were a bigger issue than the DL.

I think getting Warner back coupled with Martin becoming what folks think he can be coupled with upgrading the FS (at least, maybe both) position should help.

For sure but they actually have to address FS early. Can't be another late 4th or 5th guy.

Pierce is not worth 2 1sts I'm sorry I totally disagree. He's awful vs the run. I'm not spending two 1sts for that. Floyd 2.0 meh.

Walker is a good football player, he wasn't some game changer though. Way too soon to make any final judgements on what was or wasn't a good draft

Just sign someone. There's consistently decent safeties available in FA

Coby Bryant looks like an interesting option in FA
