John Lynch fix the OLine?? He's had 10 years to fix this broken Oline...guy has to go.

IT'S NOT LYNCH... It's Shanny..

If this is true, and there's some truth to this, he still needs to go. The team needs an astute judge of talent who can overrule Shanahan. Shanahan is not good at that. Neither is Lynch.
Also, someone who can identify and land impactful free agents.

It might be time to find a new GM. Move Lynch to a different position. Give him a "promotion" and bring in someone more competent at drafting and trading. It's time. Too many drafts have been wasted. And his few good trades haven't made up for it.

1- finding added value in later picks. kittle purdy warner lenoir greenlaw mckivitz, hufanga, jennings, dj jones

2- signing saleh, ryans and schneider as coordinators

3- kyle offensive playcalling (except those in #5 above)

4- trading for mccaffrey

5- salary cap, they did a pretty good job of managing these before the aiyuk singing

From your 'worst 5' you left out a very important one: Continuously rolling out very subpar Special Teams (prior to this year).

ST is such a crucial phase of today's parity-laden NFL. This year's improved ST has very much helped this team to its 12-5 record. IMO, it was a huge reason why the Niners lost the last SB (in particular, the giveaway on the punt return in the 3rd - Luter - to open the door for KC).

I like John Lynch as a person, but man, it's just so hard to look past this. The 49ers are supposed to be going through a transition right now and passing the baton to the next generation, but there isn't a single young star on this team. Trent Williams will be 38 next year; Fred Warner 30; Kittle 33; CMC 30; Bosa 29. The 49ers don't have a single player that would make the all-under-25 team.

They should've found the next generation of Niner stars that will be the fixtures moving forward by now, but they haven't. This is a terrible indictment on the GM.

That is not going to happen. Shanahan is, and will continue to be, the de facto GM. Lynch has a lot of influence but Shanahan has the deciding vote.

I 1000% agree. They've done an admirable job of being scrappy and plugging in serviceable players to backfill injuries and such, but where are our A players who will lead the team in 3-6 years? I'm hopeful for Purdy, but I'm skeptical that picks like Pearsall and M. Williams will get us there. We're losing ground against our rivals.

Burford has stabilized our Iine since he has moved to LG.

burford is awful, and if you didnt realise it before last night (with so much eye test for this), you should have by now

we need to draft LG and LT in the first 3 rounds, along with a WR

You're not getting a starting calibre LT later in the draft. At least not one who will replace what Williams does.

And as of now Williams is still on the team. We aren't taking a OT with a pick in round 1-3 to sit on the bench when we have so many other needs.

Also, what are the chances that a guard in rounds 2-3 will be better than Burford? Shanahan won't play a rookie anyways so what's the point?

ShanaLynch still living off of those first drafts.

Without those players, this would be an expansion team roster.

Apologists will call us "haters" for pointing this out.

Lance trade overshadows all the others. Imagine three 1st round picks spread around Edge rusher, OL, and CB, all of which are high-level needs right now.

It looks so much worse when you contrast it to what the Rams did the last few years. All the cope we heard about from Niner fans was that the Rams mortgaged their future to win a SB, but in 2 back-to-back drafts, the Rams have kicked open a brand new window with a young core of stars for the next decade. 2 f**king drafts netted them Puka Nacua, Kobie Turner, Byron Young,Jared Verse and s**t ton of high-quality roster players.

Seeing as Burford sucks I'd say the chances are pretty high.

Amen. I'd like to add taking the ball 1st in OT during the SB to that top 5 bad list

Need to actually give a s**t in free agency this off-season

But will they be able to if they designate BA a post June 1 cut?

Don't expect mucch. Last I saw from the cap guys, the 49ers still have at least $30 million in dead money next year.

True, and 2027 is in deficit.

Some magic needs to happen.
