Watched Lynch play Safety at a high level throughout his career. He knows the position as well as anyone. It's just baffling that this team can't find better talent at S. Brown and Mustapha have too many shortcomings and just aren't the playmakers this team needs on the back end. Brown was atrocious last night.
Mustapha shows more than Brown IMO as a SS type. Would like to see them find a true ballhawking, fast FS to pair with Mustapha at the very least and go from there.

Sigle and Mustapha should be battling for SS.

Definitely not ready to give up on Sigle as he showed some things earlier this year and is just a rookie. He also has some speed.

Burford has stabilized our Iine since he has moved to LG.
burford is awful, and if you didnt realise it before last night (with so much eye test for this), you should have by now
we need to draft LG and LT in the first 3 rounds, along with a WR

Too early to say on Sigle.
4th and 5th round players not turning into top level starters aren't busts.

Safety is a far bigger need than LT. So is DE.

worst 5 mistakes by shanahan lynch
1- lance trade
2- buckner trade
3- disregarding ol (the 2 times they picked them in rounds 1-2 were good, dont know why they didnt follow on that)
4- lousy value on 1st and 2nd rounders. thomas, foster, kinlaw, lance, jackson. from last 2 years jury is still out but green, pearsall, williams or colling dont look like world beaters exactly
5- superbowls playcalling and strategy
bonus: - DB depth and
top 5 moves by shanahan lynch
1- finding added value in later picks. kittle purdy warner lenoir greenlaw mckivitz, hufanga, jennings, dj jones
2- signing saleh, ryans and schneider as coordinators
3- kyle offensive playcalling (except those in #5 above)
4- trading for mccaffrey
5- salary cap, they did a pretty good job of managing these before the aiyuk singing

Don't expect mucch. Last I saw from the cap guys, the 49ers still have at least $30 million in dead money next year.

Did Brown take any classes with Lynch? Maybe he audited a Stanford course during the summer?
