There were tonnes of good FS's in the past two drafts but they get chosen before the 5th round.

This team needs pretty much everything on D

-Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams are coming off ACL's
-Mykel Williams looks to be a two down edge setter. Keion White flashes more than our 11th overall pick.
-Bryce Huff and Sam O are pass rushing backups
-We don't have a pass rushing 3T
-Jordan Elliot, Kevin Givens and Kalia Davis are backups at best. Alfred Collins should be an Ok two down run stuffer.
-Winters is not a starting LB
-We spent a 3rd on Nick Martin and he can't see the field and a 4th on CJ West who can't get snaps over practice squad players.
-Ja'iyr Brown and Malik Mustapha can't cover
-Reynardo Green looks to be more of a backup /3rd corner type. But I will give the DB's some leeway because our DLine is pathetic.

Needs:
DE
DT
LB
FS
CB

No big deal right?

We just picked DE, DT, and LB at the top of the last draft. The fact that we need to address those same positions again shows failure. Someone should be held accountable

Im done with Lynch. Keep Shanahan but take away all his personnel decisions.

A guy we should be looking at is Jesse Minter the Chargers D coordinator for HC and John McKay (assistant GM, Los Angeles Rams.

I'd be offering Shanahan up in the trade market. See if we can get a couple 2nd's for him and Lynch can go back to the broadcast booth. It's time for a fresh start.

I would keep Shanahan and see how things go with a better GM who can draft.

Finally someone gets it. Lynch committed to a full rebuild at the deadline. He FAILED by not trading CMC and Trent at the very least.
I mean it clearly already been a rebuild on the fly whether they say so or not. Also rookies can and have improve over time. Few if any rookies are immediate stars especially on the DL.

This is very revealing and it proves how bad ShanaLynch have been drafting the past five years.

Huff is way more than a back-up, he and Bosa could be a really good tandem. Martin got caught up in a numbers and position game, his story is far from over. West has a broken hand, which may be hindering his ability to play effectively, plus he was a 4th round pick who showed some promise in preseason. I'm not sure there was any legitimate expectation of him being a difference maker his first year, But then again, you are making all of these claims as if they are unique to the 49ers, as opposed to any other team in the league, which I don't imagine is the case.

It was mustafa and ya I could not believe it when I saw it … apparently stafford couldn't either.. he couldn't get the ball there fast enough.

I was at the game and I called it when I saw that, but everyone had to know what was about to happen.
Here is where the Niners are. York is limiting committing to buying the pieces to win a Super Bowl and that has committed this team to a rebuild. It really started last off season. That is all good and it is a cheaper route to go but the reality is if you are going to rely on the draft to rebuild, you must have people who can identify and select the right talent that matches your scheme and program. Lynch doesn't do that. For that matter the organization probably needs to look at the scouting department and evaluate what is going on there as well. Does the organization have the right scouts scouting college talent? Are they really providing the right input to upper management on who to select? I think it goes deeper than just Lynch.
What's that old definition of insantity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting better results. This organization needs to be able to replace key players and it must begin by selecting the right and best talent. It's great everyone here is identifying that Lynch blew rebuilding the D or that there are still needs there. There are going to be needs on offense as well over the next two to three years. This will be a major rebuild and in truth, we are probably 3-4 years out from being a serious contender again.
Maybe not the best place for this but. 95.7 was just going over all wr/rb/te and secondary drafted and dang this team doesn't draft very well

In what round did we draft the RB from Oregon that is inactive every week?

5th round.
Didn't need to make a big splash at the deadline. But needed to do something and give up a 3rd- 4th for someone that can press the QB.

Guys looked defeated from the go. At the very least it sends a message to the locker room that they're trying even if they're not.

My god, Keion White was being punk by the Tight End pass blocking. Guy is better on the interior.
