This 💯

Fun fact: the 49ers are tied with the Falcons and Eagles for the most trades in the NFL.
F*ck them picks!

Basically costed nothing, in the last yr of his deal though

This move makes great sense for a Rams team that is one of the best in the league. Perhaps the Niners can make a move for a pass rusher and/or a cover LB? If we're looking for players I think DT is actually a good spot to start. The team already tried their luck with Hargrave and none of the draft picks since have filled that role of a disruptive interior pass rusher.......added bonus, all we have at DT are replacement-level guys and rookies...Edge is well cared for beyond this year.

That's what got us in this mess. Three 1st rounders for Trey Lance. We were supposed to be rebuilding the trenches.

But we're not trying to trade 1st round picks!!! There are no pass rushers out there worth 1st round picks or even 2nd round picks.
Let's just trade for Arden Key and sign 30 year old FA Yannick Ngakoue if Lynch doesn't want to give up higher picks. We can use some veteran players to sprinkle with our youngsters.

And we got 3 conditional 4ths coming our way in this upcoming draft reportedly.

we have a s**t ton of youth, I think SF has been one of the highest ranked teams in rookie/2nd yr players snap counts this yr (even before all the injuries).

make some moves for guys that aren't FAs next yr or are young (possible extension guys).

The plan can't be tossing out the next PS guy or assuming Bosa/Fred are gonna be 100% in 20026.

make some moves that can help now and next yr.

Key isn't healthy and doesn't move the needle. He shouldn't be their top trade acquisition. That's a 2nd tier rotational guy, not a "jump start" the defense guy.

Yannick hasn't been good or healthly the past 3 seasons.

these are moves you do after you make a legit trade first.

Didn't know about Key. Yannick is a low risk and can always let go if it doesn't work out. But you know what I am saying.. we just need a couple of rotational with all the injuries. And of course I'm all for getting a
McDonald lV, Jermaine Johnson or one of the Miami boys.
Regarding Lynch, who I've always liked & respected from watching him at S during his playing days and thereafter as an NFL broadcaster and as GM of the team we're rooting for: The Niners have never had a big-time, playmaking S during his time here, which is kind of a head-scratcher. He's a Hall of Fame S and just a pure "football guy" - no one knows the position better than him. Yet the best S this team's had w/ him as GM has probably been Ward (Hufanga's had some good moments).

The current group of guys seem to be just that - "a group of guys." Their playmaking abilities and speed + athleticism are just very limited and not very impressive overall. Brown had a lot of snaps yesterday...made a good stop at the LOS to prevent a 1st Down but he just isn't consistent enough going through his 3rd season. Too many times he either misses a tackle completely or takes himself out of the play with a bad angle trying to make a tackle. Sigle has good speed and has shown some promise as a rookie but at times has shown he's just that, a rookie, and hasn't played as much recently. Mustapha when healthy is the best of the bunch and seems to have his best moments when he's close to the LOS, where he's shown the impact he can make. Hoping he gets better in continuing to round back into form after injury.

The Niners and the S position in the past have spoiled some of us. I grew up watching my all-time favorite football player, Lott. Also appreciated the play of guys like McDonald & Hanks (and in my early days, Williamson & Hicks).

It didn't have to be this way. But we have to draft better. If this guy + Shany can't do it then we have to move on to someone who can. In addition we can't ignore offensive line anymore. If Lynch/Shany continue to do so then they need to be replaced.

SHOULDA been replaced 4 years ago... so far, Lynch's showing that Shanny's in charge.. drafting RBs high over and over and over OVER offensive linemen just never made any sense ESPECIALLY that he's well known to make ANY RB better than the average under his system...

It also doesn't make any sense to keep trying on developing young guys when we should see our team as 1 or 2 veteran players away from winning it all..
