Raiders don't make trades with 49ers. Goes all the way back to Al Davis.

True, we offered them more for Khalil Mack than the Bears did, but they still opted to trade him to the Bears instead. That worked out better for us in the long run though.

Ive been pounding the table that Bradley Chubb makes the most sense. He has 3 sacks on the year and is 29, so the age where his future contract and situation doesn't match the Dolphins outlook.

The Phins are out of it. They have serious cap issues in 2026 and need to fix it without blowing their 2027.

They're headed for a rebuild/reset and have a crap situation with Tua's contract. The only way out is to shed base salaries and add picks.

Chubb has 38m in non-guaranteed base salary in 2026 and 2027. It would free up all that cap for them over those 2 years.

What we'd owe him this year would only be about 2.4m in base salary and per game roster bonuses.

The Deebo trade is a good comp. 5th rounder.

The only reason I'm down for that is it should cost next to nothing. His pressure rate has been pretty bad, I'd much rather have Phillips.

HIs pressure rate, according to NFL pro is the same as Maxx Crosby

Neither Kyle nor Lynch see this team as SB contenders or being one player away, and they repeatedly say this. I see no reason besides wishful thinking that they give up anything of value to acquire a big name lineman. They may take a cheap flier on some guy (like an Omenihu years ago) for cheap but I really dont see any big names being dealt here.

When have they repeatedly said this? I think most coaches and GM's think they are Super Bowl contenders especially if they are a playoff caliber team.

Fun fact: Since 1995 only 4 teams have won the Super Bowl as the Super Bowl preseason favorite.

That's why they preach to just get into the playoffs. Anything can happen from there. The best team doesn't win all the time and it goes back to the old saying "Any given Sunday"

This, 100%. Plus, injuries can and will happen at any given time and to any key players, unfortunately (Niners know this all too well).
You know, Bradley Chubb is an interesting one. He was initially my distant third choice after Hendrickson and Danielle Hunter, but apparently Chubb is awful at generating pressures and is just more of a sack specialist? Can anyone confirm this or is this just misinformation?

I guess it really depends how you define "pressures." According to PFR, in 2023, Chubb (and Huff) each had 33 pressures while Hendrickson had 35, Hunter had 41 and Bosa had 44. All good for top 20 in the league across all DL, by the way. In 2022, Chubb, Hendrickson, Hunter and Bosa were all in the top 15 in terms of pressures (32+)

But this season, Chubb only has 4 pressures. But again, this is all according to PFR.

I want this to happen. Trade for Trey Hendrickson and sign him afterwards then make a decision who is kept of he and Bosa next year and after.

Only Warner is the other one getting good money on defense.

McCaffrey's stardom might be coming to an end. And T. Williams' money might soon retire.

Aiyuk's contract is boneheaded so start to look to unload him.

Let's go

you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

I expect a Charles Omenihu-esque move, which is much better than nothing. I don't know about the cap numbers, but John Lynch should give the Colts a call and see if they're open to trading Samson Ebukam. I can't imagine it would cost much. That guy was sooo underrated around here.

I read the capped words first and got all excited

This is coming straight from a guy who covers the dolphins. Also Sam Okuayinonu has a better PRUSH score than Chubb on PFF and while Maxx is top 15 in PRWR, I can't even find Chubb.

Pressures tell a different story, however. He's logged just 10 pressures on 103 pass rush opportunities. He ranks outside the top-100 in the NFL in pressure rate amongst edge defenders. He deserves credit for his finishes. But the disruption rate is less than half of what Miami is getting from their other starting edge, Jaelan Phillips.

Sometimes its the less noticeable moves that make the biggest impact.

Misinformation imo, especially at this point. Couple sacks this yr were in trash time/unblocked.

his PFF numbers are abysmal. Wouldn't move the needle much for me, more of a name at this point vs quality player.
