This is going to be a rough year.

How 'bout a younger, cheaper blocking TE?

So we are just going to hope that a nobody TE can play RB/WR/FB and can block and catch well? And is an excellent leader?

honestly we could use both. Our TE room, outside of Kittle, has been trash for years.

having a stud FB and multiple good TEs should be the goal - not one or the other, over $5M.

You don't think that looks like the plan?

Kyle hates admitting he's wrong and idiotic for taking a 3rd round kicker. He really wants to say "I told you so"

Might as well have him compete with a FA kicker in camp.

Totally agree, Kyle won't have it though….guaranteed.

There were reports we were talking to kickers today I believe. I think we'll bring somebody in.

We messed up thos season just because we paid Aiyuk and re did the Deebo contact last summer. Should have cut bait on them last year. Especially when the CMC camp injury stuff was going on, should have been a sign to them to try and reset a little bit. At least not paying Aiyuk after negotiations got a little out of hand.
Holy f**k! Did I fall asleep and we went $100 mil over the cap or something? I mean, I understand trimming some fat but Jesus f**k we need to field a team too

I'm sorry. For a team that just came off such a horrible record to do next to nothing and be tied to basically no one someone is failing at their job.

I understand not overpaying. I understanding building through the draft. What I can't understand is the mass exodus of players and I guess the hope we can hit on all the draft pics. What's different this year is that no one looks at us as a destination anymore. We're not a place people want to sign. Regardless of if we're are rebuilding or retooling our blowing it all up, perception looks like we don't know what the plan is.

i say all this as a fan. I know I don't know what's going on behind the scenes. But I can see many teams getting better and is significantly worse AT THE MOMENT.

We are not a destination because we are not willing to pay guys like Kinlaw $45 mil. Of all the FA's that signed today, who's really worth the cash they got? I see none, except for maybe Dre-if he can stay healthy.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect Greenlaw to be great this year. You'd be shooting for next year, and that's a gamble, and you'd be paying for both, and we can't.

20 mil blocking TE. 3rd string RB. Resign love child (K Givens)

What a SLUG.

He has something up his sleeve, still early...

Almost always is overpaying for mediocre.

I know fans are livid that some of their fav players are gone, but (silver lining)...addition by subtraction

Hopefully they nail the draft (DT, LB, Edge and Oline) and sign a legit Free Safety / CB and help on Dline

i have faith, years ago we signed Carlos Rogers on day 2 or 3 of the FA period and he turned out ok.

We signed Luke Farrell, nothing exciting but gets us a solid blocking TE we were missing last year.

Personally the only FAs that have been signed that I wanted here in a big way were Dalman and Ryan Kelly cuz I want nothing to do with Jake Brendel starting for us at center.

As far as our own FAs my only concern is getting Greenlaw back. If he signs somewhere else that one will hurt. I wanted Moore back as well but never expected him to fetch the money he got.

It's somewhat amusing to me that some of our own fans think we have a front office that sucks at drafting and yet our FAs have come off the board as fast as any team out there to the point where right now we've already maxed out the comp picks for next year.

Yes, the FA signing should reinforce that the front office has built up great talent. On to the draft!
Not hardly the fact that teams ridiculously over spent on subpar players isn't an indicator of any such thing it's all about supply and demand.

Would either of you be celebrating if the 49ers were to of handed out those same contracts to Moore & Banks?

Clearly they are looking to get younger. Moore and Banks would not have been good deals for the niners.

I don't know how much all of this added to dead money. Maybe not a mega cap increase.
