Chargers just cut Stevie Johnson, COME ON DOWWWWNNNNN!!!!!!

We have to be aggressive!

Stevie is the "Where's Waldo" of the NFL. "Hey QB...guess where Stevie is...because he won't be on the route called!"

Maybe Kyle can make something out of Stevie? He'll come cheaper than torrey and can do more things!

I love his ability but wonder if it isn't too late for him to become a consistent WR. Certainly the niners can use a WR!

Yeah we signed Kirk Cousins' cousin.

"Non-traditional route runner."

Jeremy Somerville @SomervilleCLE
Just told by someone with knowledge of negotiations that #Browns didn't offer Pryor more than $8mil per year. TP reportedly seeking $10mil+

Well to be fair the Browns did draft 5 WRs last year, so they can't put all their eggs in one basket.

The NFL mandates that the 49ers are not allowed to talk with Cousins per the exclusive rights franchise tag but it doesn't say anything about family.... Well played Lynch. We got our middle man now.

Sounds like you can get Pryor at $12M/year. You willing to do that?

I am. Make the contract front loaded and he could be worth it.

Yup, I had him and Britt around $10M anyways. Ain't no thang.

That high? no, but it all depends on the details. If its a ton of incentives with a low base, I'm fine with it

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
#Bucs are set to make a strong push for #Redskins WR DeSean Jackson, I'm told. He has lots of interest. But Tampa will make a strong attempt

I remember when they cut Boldin and replaced him with a CFL player. I will be satisfied with the Smith move if the 49ers have three WRs on the team next year that outperform T Smith in 2017.

I think, objectively, it has to be production per dollar. That's the only way you can normalize the two players and gauge whether the decision was beneficial or not (smith and his replacement). All comparisons must be normalized and it only seems logical to normalize based on player cost.

2017 Salary: 6.5mil
2016 stats (obviously a projection but I can't see the future so what ever):
REC: 20 --> 325K per catch
TGTS: 49 --> 132K per target
YDS: 267 --> 24K per yard

------------------
^ That's the benchmark for his replacement, we'll see if Lynch can find somebody that will charge less than 325K per catch or less than 24000 per yard. (Yes I added the zeros for effect)

2016 mighr be an anomaly statistically and the money is neaningless to me. Trying to get the most production pwr dollar is not the best way to win imo.

No, production per dollar shouldn't be the only measurement. But it is one measurement. Torrey hasn't done crap,lower rated receivers on our own team gave produced more, I don't see any reason to keep paying him by any measurement. High salary, crappy stats, lazy routes, mediocre at catching what did come his way.
