To his credit, Bill rarely moves up in a draft. In fact, they usually move down and get extra picks.

And he hardly hits on his early rd picks, so what if he doesn't trade up, still making bad picks, or questionable picks that don't turn out to be good picks.

Maybe, but I wouldn't have taken him at 29, when he was projected as a mid-rounder, I guarantee people would have said we could have gotten him on day 2.

This is true too. But the first round gives you that 5th year option too. But agreed...the protection was late 2nd/3rd.

Agreed. I don't think Belicheck is the best at finding talent. That is why he usually drafts quantity rather than quality. Let the cream float to the top.
