Players see this and many think whats the point in going all out if even the best player on the team gets traded and you can be rewarded for dogging it.
This. To even entertain the idea that AA + an unknown 1st rounder and Ward were worth keeping over Buckner is absurd

i agree,

We lost a leader. i agree with that article on the home page. Lost all our locker room leaders. Staley, Buckner, Sherman. I'm sure that is a big part of why are season is so bad.

At the end of the day if we look back at Shanahan's and Lynch's drafts. they have not been very good.

Other than Bosa (2019), Deebo (2019), Aiyuk (2020), Warner (2018),Kittle(2017) Possibly Lance and Mitchell (2021)

But yet the only guy really killing it this season on that list is Deebo.

Buckner(2016) wasn't even a shanahan pick.

Rest our drafts picks have been garbage.

out of those listed above, 3 are first round picks.

I know it's too soon to say on Kinlaw yet,

but MM, Thomas, Foster, all bad.

We could have kept Buckner. Got rid of Armstead. Signed Tom Brady. But we told him we weren't interested. We kept Jaylon Hurd on the roster instead of a useful player. We didn't have to trade away years of picks and high picks.

There are reasons why this team loses. The opportunity to win was there.

Kyle would have forced his play action offense on Tom Brady too and they would have gotten in a fist fight with Brady ending up on I.R. with a broken right hand. You know it's true.

Lol!. . . What I believe is true is that Brady would have told KS to "f**k off" and run his own offense and the players would have followed him. You know that's true. KS knows that's true. He can't handle players with real gravitas. The coach is just a psychologically weak man. Lynch is a stuffed shirt not suited to his position; I can't even listen when he speaks, he so smarmy. But above all, Jed has proved time and again to be stupid. And I don't mean that in a school yard, throw away accusation sense . . . I mean stupid. Dirt dumb stupid. It's going to be difficult for the Niners to amount to something unless Jed gets lucky and hits on a GM (coach/GM). Kinda like his uncle did with Walsh. That could take forever.

Haha. So true. That's essentially what happened in Tampa. Literally.

But Kyle did force his offense on Matt Ryan so

One thing I noticed is it seems QB's can learn MCDaniels/Brady offense fairly easy and it scores points vs Kyle's which requires a PHD and takes years...

Just sign Tom Brady. Like we had an extra 25 mill just sitting around. That was not the case bud, this isn't Madden. Hurd's cap hit is 1 million, it's not that big of a deal.

He wanted to play here. We told him we weren't interested. Tampa Bay wanted to win and did win the Super Bowl.

More simplistic is good sometimes. You don't always want the most complicated offense. It can be a disadvantage.

so what, there's still a lot of work to do to rearrange that kind of capital. Tampa didn't have too.

Even the receivers worked with Kyle to simplify the verbiage for their routes on plays.. imagine how a QB must feel. IMO that's a massive check yourself situation.
There's no doubt that losing Buckner hurt the D line especially since the guy that was supposed to replace him is injured. I have a problem with using that as an excuse for the poor overall play. Even if he was the clubhouse leader, the team can't be so fragile that they completely come unglued when hone guy leaves. Leaders leave all the time. Someone else needs to step up.

There's a reason when asked, Jed referenced Trey sitting for two or three years for the long game gains. Even he knows as that was clearly discussed with him.
