One great advantage Lynch, Peters and Shanahan have going in to the draft and free agency is they don't have an insane amount of pressure on them to match high standards. That the bar was set so low previously has to make them feel reasonably at ease and anxious to make their mark with a ridiculous amount of cap room and no shortage of picks to start them off right.
Baalke was usually okay to good in the first two rounds but dropped off after that and this is where Lynch, Peters & Shanahan can really get things moving quick and in a hurry. Personally I can't wait to find out how much JL paid attention to what Elway was doing in Denver and why Peters has such a rock star reputation.

"Things happen in guys' careers. Injuries happen. Different things happen. We're just kind of – like we said we would and like we told Kap we would – we're accessing everything and both Kyle [Shanahan] and I really believe wholeheartedly that position is the most important position in football and we believe that in our heart of hearts so we're doing, from every side of this thing, we're evaluating and we're continuing to watch the film and we'll continue to work towards that until we have made a decision. And the one thing that we will do very well with Kap is we'll communicate and I think that's important for both sides.
"Like everything else, I'm talking about that process is well in the works and, like I said, we'll continue to do that and we'll be very up front with him in terms of what we're thinking and we want to know what he's thinking as well."

In other words, thanks for your services but we're going in a different direction.

Irrelevant.
Two completely different animals.
Nice guy and all but, cerebrally, millen is a no-talent meathead.
Lynch has deeper skill and wisdom . . . no comparison.

Lynch is intelligent enough to know that you can find wisdom, in some quantity, from anywhere. To be outright dismissive could be a missed opportunity to learn, even if one learns what not to do.

Lynch: 'If you don't opt out, we will release you.'
Kaep; 'I'm gonna opt out.'
Lynch to reporter, 'And the one thing that we will do very well with Kap is we'll communicate and I think that's important for both sides.'

They should hire Millen as a consultant and do the exact opposite of whatever advice he gives at the time.

After talking with Millen, Lynch will draft qb in the 1st round the next 3 years.

Baalke sucked at drafting in the first two rounds. But other than that, your post is spot on
