So refreshing to hear John & Kyle's interviews. They speak very clearly and honestly. Having gone through Harbuagh, Tomsula and Baalke was a nightmare. Chip was good though.

Different coaches use different tactics for motivation. I was never a fan of "us against the world" or "we will run at all costs". Even though everyone naturally talks about unity on day one, I can't wait to see all the brains work together. What will be a huge test is getting all those great minds to work together.

To add to that first coach since?... Mucci that you feel you can relate to on a man and football level? Somen like that haha.

Missed that part, but I did catch him saying he didn't want to be a read and react defense. He wants to be an attacking style defense. To me, this means the d-line will do less 2-gapping and more 1-gapping. I wouldn't be surprised if we moved to a base 4-3 defense.

elephant 4-3

Blair might benefit from this change. I would still like to see them pick up a true NT who can hold the middle against the run, and possibly get some pressure on passing downs. Both Buckner and Armstead need to keep working on staying low so they aren't washed out but they can play in any front. I'd like to see a four man line with Blair moving around presenting more a three man set with a rover. Perhaps similar to the elephant position played by Haley. That would require picking up at least one really top LB who is versatile enough to play inside or outside depending on what Blair is doing. This is why I find Foster intriguing.

I really like the potential of Ronald Blair. Give him a year or two and he will make a name for himself.
Kid was one of our most explosive pass rushers on the d line last season...I hope they figure out how to use him and feed him snaps.

I love the staff we have assembled in the Front Office. For John Lynch to be able to pick the minds of Peters, Gamble and Mayhew, that will be huge in his development and of course the success of our team. Stoked!

That is a deep group of experienced and well respected personnel guys, so theres definitely reason to be excited!

John Lynch wasn't kidding when he said he would assemble a strong experienced staff around him.

This

The most football minds in this FO since Walsh as GM.

John Lynch doesn't play around. He says what's he thinks, and does what he says. Straight up honest man.

Makes sense. He did leave football because of concussions, his wife probably detest football because of that.

If you read his book you'll discover this isn't true. He left the game because he was being blackballed by SF because they feared PR over his concussions, even though he was medically cleared a couple weeks after his final play and hasn't had any long term symptoms. He then had a chance to go to Denver with Mike Shanahan, but because he was just married and expecting his first child he saw it as a fitting time to end the chapter in his life of playing football. His wife doesn't care for football because she never watched it or cared for it, and then she never really knew him as a football player since his career ended pretty much right after they met.

I'm glossing over the transcript and I don't see what you mentioned.

Didn't they have CJ at the time? Ebron was seen as a 10 year starting explosive TE as a blanket for Stafford. So I see why he chose to go that route and don't really blame him.

His stats have gone up ever year. Last year with 711 being a career high in 13 games.

He stays healthy for an extra game or two and he could really explode next year and being a 1000 yard TE.
