Make sure to let the 49ers know that. I am sure they will take it into consideration...
Just throwing my opinion out same as you and everyone else
I'd give next year's first for Jimmy g rather than this year's first on a QB. Even if the browns take garret we can trade down for a number of badass players and probably get a first next year

Look at the qbs not the team...cassell was a 7th rd college backup, Hoyer was a UDFA, and mallet wasn't a qb from the shoulders up. Jimmy G was the highest drafted qb bill has every taken for a reason.
Please stop with the nonsense comparisons because they all played in NE...Kyle liked him coming out of the draft. There's nothing to figure out those guys were low rd draft picks and for them to actually still be in the league means something

No 1sts...two 2nds and if they can't swing that then move on. This team can't afford to give up 1st rd picks getting in a bidding war never pays off, set a value and stick to it. Lynch might be the GM but Adam peters who's been part of the Pats and Denver knows the process and idea of setting value on a player.

guys guys guys...
what we need to offer to the New England, if we do really like Grappy is either Joe Staley, a 4th (2017) and swap of 2nd (2018) if he leads us to the playoffs.. or we can send them Arik Armstead and a 4th (2017)...

HOUSTON TEXANS once thought the same way you did in regards to drafting a DE (first overall) who can transform a defense...

And the Chargers once thought they could transform their offense with the 2nd pick (Leaf). The Browns thought could trade the 1st/ 2nd pick and score a honey hole. What's your point? There's no full proof method to success.
Qb, pass rusher are the most important positions though and Garrett is a stud.

At qb you get your guy. Settling for the consolation prize very well could be the difference between Manning and Leaf.

Really? Even without watt he got that defense become a damn good defense. He doesn't have sexy stats but his impact is enormous.

I hope Peters will come up big for us too. I hope he can negotiate/stockpile picks like Baalke has done on draft day; the one thing he was brilliant at. Among many other faults, Baalke just picked way too many busts and neglected the offensive talent.

John Lynch's first big front office hire as general manager of the San Francisco 49ers was vice president of player personnel Adam Peters.
The ex-Denver Broncos director of college scouting is highly regarded throughout the NFL. The hire of Peters quieted some of the guffaws directed at the Niners for handing their head gig to a former TV analyst.
Lynch poached Peters from the Broncos thanks to the former safety's relationship with Denver GM John Elway.
Elway told Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle in a phone interview Wednesday that he likely wouldn't have let Peters out of his contract to go to any other team besides the 49ers.
"Probably not," Elway said. "... He's very good at what he does and I hate losing him. But I also know that it's a great opportunity for him as far as the responsibilities that he was going to gain in San Francisco. But also I know that he's going to be able to go and help John.
"If it was anyone else, I probably wouldn't have. But I know it's a great opportunity for Adam and he'll be a tremendous help to John."
The 37-year-old Peters spent the past eight seasons with the Broncos climbing the ladder from scout, to assistant director of college scouting, to head of the department. Before that, he was a scout with the New England Patriots from 2003-2008.
"That will be a huge plus for John because Adam's been in the league for a long time and knows a lot of different things," Elway told Branch. "How to organize personnel, whether it's on the college side or the pro side. So to have guys that know how to organize that, he'll see how the process is run and after that it's relatively easy. Just to have those people -- to have good people around him who can teach him all those things."
While former TV broadcaster-turned-GM Matt Millen downplayed the relationships built between television analysts and executives, Elway believes that experience will benefit Lynch.
"He's got those relationships already with other GMs in the league to where you can work with them and vice versa," Elway said. "That's one thing where he's way ahead of me when I started. I just didn't have those relationships."
Lynch's relationship with Elway already paid dividends, landing the 49ers a prime scouting eye ahead of a pivotal draft season.

This! Lynch's connections through his time playing and broadcasting will greatly benefit us. York hired the best Head Coach in the market. Trusting Shanahan's choice in Lynch was also vital and evident with Lynch pulling Peters away from Denver. I hope Lynch/Shanahan can excel at finding talented players like Ronnie Lott that will sacrifice life and limb for this game....I can't wait for the Lynch Shanahan Introductory Press Conerence.

Hopefully Peter's stays with us for a little while, he seems like a future hot gm candidate.
