They need it. Along with freezing ticket prices. Smart public relations move. I heard that Browns are dropping ticket prices. And the Bears after going 3-13 will raise prices

At first this hire scared me but now I like it almost as much as the Shannan hire.

It's really, really odd. The vast majority of the fanbase (including myself) absolutely despised this hire the moment it was announced. Like I personally hated it so much it felt like a top 10 miserable moment as a 49ers fan for me. Yet as the days went on I started to grow on it and once Adam Peters was hired, I started to get a positive vibe from it.

I really have no clue what happened... but whatever it was it seems to have happened to the entire fanbase lol.

Hopefully these positive vibes aren't tricking us. I got some positive vibes last offseason when Anthony Davis was reinstated and it looked like our offensive line would be put together. And then the trash dump of a season post-Week 2 happened.

Not being a smartass, sincerely asking NY, why do you like this guy so much? You've been touting him in multiple threads. For a guy who got beat out by Josh Dobbs, passed for what, 1 300 yard game against Clemson and the rest of his games were Meh at best. Is it because he had good practices at Senior bowl week? That might have been the weakest QBS I've seen in a while there, so it really wasn't hard to stand out with them. I dunno, for me I think his ceiling is as a backup
I'd go to war with Lynch and Shanahan!!

They are like teaser trailers to a hopefully sane front office and organization.

The fan glasses were put on, I did it too and am excited about the hire but the hire is risky.

It's not that I like him so much, but it's the qualities he possess ( played under center, good footwork, accurate) are great building blocks for a WCO qb. He's also not gonna cost us a 1st or 2nd where we can grab more pro-ready players. Mitch is my #1 qb in the draft but he's a work in progress just the same.

I don't think we find the qb of the future in this draft and we will look at possibly trading for Jimmy G (within reason), hit up the draft hard next yr, or go after Kirk in FA in 2018.

Peterman is merely a qb worth developing that wouldn't cost us a premier draft pick and has a good foundation...I'll add Dobbs was looked at as a top qb prospect when he beat him out and provided that athletic ability on top of it, but like most Tenn qbs they all end up sucking there.

Pitt didn't throw the ball 50+ times a game so his stats weren't ridiculously high, but they ran a lot of bootlegs & play actions. he actually had progressions. If you look at his play and compare it to say Kirk Cousins in college they look pretty similar (Peterman might be a little more athletic). Damn near exact stats as well.

If all he turns out to be is a solid backup nothing wrong with that we didn't drop a top 34 pick on him anyway.

I think the best part about Lynch so far is recognizing the problems that have been here for years and already looking to solve them. The fact that he demanded secrecy to test the leaks is amazing and ballsy for a guy looking for a job. Also firing the S and C coach is something that should've been done years ago. I didn't care how he looked like as long as he could make our guys healthy and conditioned, but we were always gassed in the second half and 15+ guys are going on IR. No bueno.

yeah just my two cents
It it only takes one qb desperate team to pass on Garrett for us to land the dream pick. If Jimmy G hasn't been dealt by the draft and Garrett is off the board I'd consider it because at that point we should be taking a qb but as it stands you just can't do it.

If I'm the Browns i'm taking Garrett and running away with him. He has the talent to transform a defense. But, it is the browns so we never know with them.

I'd give next year's first for Jimmy g rather than this year's first on a QB. Even if the browns take garret we can trade down for a number of badass players and probably get a first next year
