I think one area where us fans are concerned is because Baalke made all of the decisions as GM. That will not be the case with Lynch.
As somebody said before, the General Manager's job description, at any level (NFL, Walmart, YMCA), is to hire the right people for the vision that they have for the organization.
I think that some fans are so scared of Lynch's inexperience and some believe he will hold the same power as Baalke. Not happening. Lynch is already surrounding himself with people (Peters, Gamble, Dominik?) with personnel experience so that he can learn how to do it the right way.
Lynch and Shanahan will share power. For the first time since Baalke was hired as GM, we will have a front office and coaching staff that will WORK TOGETHER regarding football decisions (go grab a beer and read that sentence over and over).
On a different note, I think this culture change is just what we need. We can't let our young players think losing is acceptable like they have the past two seasons. Starting this season, Lynch and Shanahan will not tolerate it. Everyone just breathe, things are looking up. Go niners!

I'm jacked with the new regime. It's a new beginning and things can only get better. Can't wait for the Combine, Free Agency and the Draft.

I'm also eager to hear what kind of offense and defense they want to run. That should be a good primer for free agency.

I figure that'll kick off all the potential roster additions/subtractions.
On offense, I'm curious what they do with the power blockers. Does Shanahan adapt his scheme or do they start bringing in zone guys to compete?
As for defense, I like the 3-4, but I think a 4-3 switch may be possible. Either way, maybe the staff sees little to work with (Bowman, Buckner), decides to start from scratch, and makes everyone (except Bowman, Buckner) earn a spot.

I am strangely unconcerned at this point. I got over my WTF moment, remove the calls for Steve Young type to come in, and thought, wow! Jed basically did just that. I like his first hire, I like that he and Shanahan seem to be a good team, at least from what we know so far.
I am just going to let it ride and hope for the best. I bet we are a better team this year, and much better in 2018.
I absolutely detested the Kelly hiring, and couldn't real understand the Tomsula thing. I am happy that it was a swing for the fences instead of a supposedly safer group of retreads, or some unproven clone understudy coming in. Blow it up, start it over and let er rip.

COME ON LYNCH!!! SIGN ERIC BERRY THIS OFFSEASON!!
Unless he gets franchised again. I hope the chiefs don't have the salary cap room to do that.
Edit: I just looked up KC cap and they only have 4.1Mil. So I hope they can't give him the contract he deserves.

It's just shocking how different and far better John is than freakin Trent. Many of you have probably seen this already but here's his press release on his thoughts on the Adam Peters hire, and I quote;
"When it comes to stars in this industry, Adam Peters is certainly one of them," Lynch said in the press release announcing the hire. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from two incredibly successful organizations, and is one of the most respected talent evaluators in the National Football League."
More on the questions about him not being an NFL FO person any time:
"His lack of experience in an NFL front office has been a hot topic of conversation since he was announced as the team's GM on Sunday. Lynch seamlessly addressed those critics honestly, without going on the defensive.
"I'm eager to earn their trust," Lynch said. "I think the feelings that some might have there are natural. … I understand that, and I'm fully aware that myself and the team I put around me – we're going to have to earn that respect. The only way to do that is through your actions. For us, that's showing it on the field."
Such a breath of fresh air! With what Shanny was saying yesterday by God I think Jed has finally figured something out..

No doubt inexperience is a cause for concern. But one thing Lynch has than a much more experience Trent Baalke, is he is well connected in the NFL and has built relationships around the league. There's a reason ex-players such as alumni and other ex-players vouch for him. And I'm surprised some of you aren't surprised Lynch went out and already made a statement in hiring someone well respected and established in Adam Peters. The hiring of Peters should've set the fans at ease, showing us that he isn't going in blind to a job he knows nothing about.
John Lynch was hired for relations, whether it be with head coach Kyle Shanahan, free agents, media and other teams, Lynch is well respected around the league. Shoot Trent Baalke had tons more experience than Lynch and he did absolutely squat without Jim Harbaugh. I have no doubt in my mind that Lynch will build the 49ers back to be a respectable franchise again. Why, because he knows the NFL, knows what it feels like to be the bottom guy and most of all what it takes to play in the league. Not many GM's can say that.

I don't why you feel that way. How can being a champion and having played with champions not be a relevant attribute for a guy whose job it is to bring champions in the door? No, it doesn't guarantee success but to say it is irrelevant doesn't make sense to me.

Troy Aikman and John Elway both think it's very relevant, they have six Superbowl wins between the two of them, Elway has one as GM.
