He really is a great reporter.

Except when he tweets out s**t like

Lol

Well the Niners actually kept a secret for once with the whole Lynch situation! Hooray!

That is odd considering Marathe runs Football Operations, there must be a dotted line reporting structure to Marathe.

Could be part of his contract he reports to Jed not Paraag...I know hard for ya to believe

It is hard to belive because it doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't he report to the head of football operations, it seems like it would be easier to keep the two on the same page?

Not sure why he's lie about that

Maybe to make it appear that Lynch has more autonomy than he has or to shield Marathe. I have no idea if he is being truthful, I just think it is a weird structure and didn't seem to work well with Baalke.
C'mon woo..today has been a good day

Marathe interviewed and hired Lynch, he interviewed and hired Shanahan and he may be the only person who was in every interview of candidates for each position. Marathe has the top title in football operations.
This is his team, he is our Football Guy in charge of football ops. I am fine with it and hope the team is committed to making it work between Paraag, his GM and their coach.
this is Jed and Paraag's opportunity to shine with a team built according to their image and I hope they knock it out of the park.

I am excited about the future.

I'm totally fine with him not reporting to Paraag...and I'm actually glad our GM HC want to work with each other that can't be said for baalke

I don't want Jed to be the middle man between the GM and the person in charge of football operations.

My point is, who cares if it's a rough first year -- it would be like that no matter who became GM. This is why they don't care about the fact that there will be growing pains. John is smart enough to catch on -- either he's going to "get it" or he won't. Year two might show us something, but year three will likely hold the biggest clue to how he's adapted.

I imagine Lynch will do his best to structure himself like Elway, in his own unique way. A top-notch personnel staff will go a long way to getting us a much improved team.

Some of the talk shows I've seen covering this are ridiculous. A couple were basically just a round table of clowns dogging the hire and making jokes about it, without any discussion of anything of real substance or really talking about the concerns in detail. Embarrassing honestly. Especially that panel that brought on Jay Glazer. That was terrible.

You cant take that serious. Its like watching First Take and getting mad at it. I mean the show is called Garbage Time with Katie Nolan.

Yeah I don't, I never watch this stuff cause it is exactly that -- garbage. Just clicked something someone posted and had the unfortunate displeasure of seeing it. Bunch of nonsense.

Especially Cris Carter. He started getting into this talk about race. No offense, but seriously? What does Lynch getting hired have anything to do with race? Cris Carter basically said if Lynch is African American, it wouldn't have been a nonstarter...

What a joke.
I just wants a team that competes and has structure. I also want us to draft well unlike the crapshoot we have had the last couple of years. It'll be a while, but at least we will have COHERENCE from top to bottom.

Mike Singletary: unproven head coach - thanks for cashing out, Mike.
Tomsula: unproven head coach - thanks for cashing out Jim
Chip Kelly: meh - thanks for cashing out, Chip.

Who's next? What, John Lynch, you aren't thinking at all about being a GM? How about 6 years...thanks for cashing out.

So if Jed were to go out and hire whomever you wanted as GM and he failed then what?

Can't say that Baalke ever wanted to make us proud. This is refreshing. Honestly, I hated Baalke.

Charles Robinson @CharlesRobinson

Kyle Shanahan said Mike Shanahan won't be on the #49ers staff. Said he anticipates listening to advice, but not working together officially.

Mike can be a QB guru just for the 49ers in the offseason.

Nobody is laughing at us.

That's actually not true. Some people are definitely laughing at us, particularly Twitter critics and pundits. Shannon Sharpe and Matt Miller come to mind first.

It is what it is.

Shannon Sharpe? Who cares what that imbecile has to say. The guy isn't clever at all. He actually seems butt-hurt in my opinion. Do you have any people who are actually relevant that believe it's a laughable and moronic move?

Anyone who would tie themselves to Skip Bayless has no room to speak IMO

I remember when Maiocco first started writing for the Niners. The guy's come a long way. One of the very few reliable beat-writers for the Niners.

This. And he doesn't put a whole lot of opinion in his work. He and Barrows are my favorites.
