Would you have offered our first rounder for him?

I think many of us didn't expect the large drop off Garcon made, he looked fantastic last year. But we must not forget that we spent two draft picks on receivers on as well. You act as if we didn't spend any resources in the position, which is a lie. The big issue is Pettis is injured, which just sucks.
So you think Allen Robinson would be putting up better numbers with CJ? We can only go with the info we have, which Allen Robinson doesn't look like the same player from 2015, and hasn't for a while. You talk about stats, and then rebuke my statement with a hypothetical.
I can understand the josh Gordon argument, but perhaps Kyle didn't feel comfortable with him in such a young locker room? At this point does it matter? Our season was over as soon as jimmy decided he was a running back. They more than likely want the draft picks for the future rather than trying to win meaningless games now.

Reminds me of Indy when they went 1-15 the year Peyton was hurt .

The main thing I am tired of from this organization is the fact that personnel decisions have not been based on results. Every time I hear an interview making excuses for a player, it is about how close the player is to performing well. It is about how he was so close to missing a few sacks because of a slight technique or why a player got beat deep because of the play called by the offense or some other technique related evaluation that leads into making excuses that the player is on the cusp of "emerging".
This was Alex Smith in a nutshell. "If the WR ran his route half a foot this way or like this or like that, then we are talking about a different game with different results."
God damn it, if the results of this team being successful is this fragile, then maybe the talent just isn't good enough. This organization needs to be a little more cut-throat and less about only ifs. It is time to start acquiring players who have talent and athletic ability that pops out on the field and can overcome bad technique more often than it can't. Stop drafting these "coachable" players and start getting freak athletes and figure a way to coach them up.
We have enough high floor low ceiling players. It is time to take some risks and go for the low floor high ceiling players.

He'd put up better numbers with Jimmy G. If not this year, then next year for sure.
With CJ, he'd probably get open on routes, but not get the numbers like with Goodwin. Speaking of which, we look at Goodwin's numbers and they were garbage against the Rams too. Does that mean he is a bad player? Course not. He was probably getting open. The QB just sucks. You can't just look at the stats.....
I'm already out on Garcon. The dude is done physically. Cannot separate anymore. The stats aren't the only reason hes bad. I don't see him beating man coverage.

In a general sense, I agree.
It's easy to make excuses for any player, because football is a team sport. We saw this with Alex Smith for a decade.
I was at the game this Sunday. The separation Ram's receivers got in our secondary was unreal. There were guys running wide open, by several yards. It was like a Turkey Shoot. If Goff was a better QB this would have been 60-10.
We have no receivers that can create space. Nearly all of the players were contested in the secondary. And when they weren't, Beathard misfired.
This team needs receivers. It is also looking like the team needs a new defensive coordinator. I've never seen our defense look consistently confused when lining up in base personnel.

Time to go big game hunting in free agency and "overpay" for multiple top tier FAs. Also, must de-value mid round picks and trade them away for proven NFL starters.
So who did you want us to sign this past offseason that would have changed our fortunes?
well lets see ..... there was allen robinson ,Sammy Watkins ,trumaine Johnson ,nate solder, Andrew norwell, Malcolm butler, ..... forget it we probably would still suck. #keep hope alive lol !!!![]()

LOLOL
Allen Robinson: Averaging 47.5
Pierre garçon: averaging 32.8 yards per game.
Thats extra 15 yards is really the difference huh? Check his numbers, he's been above average at best.
Oh you mean this truman johnson? The one Sherman is out performing? The one who is also injured?
https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2018/10/02/trumaine-johnson-not-living-up-to-the-hype-just-yet/
Or how about the nate solder with an injured neck who has been apart of an awful giants line. How about the fact the Mclginchey has outplayed him thus far this season, at a cheaper price.
https://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2018/09/are_the_giants_getting_their_moneys_worth_for_nate.html
https://weei.radio.com/blogs/alex-reimer/nate-solder-michael-bennett-strip-sack-shows-how-bad-star-left-tackle-has-played
Or how about marcom butler. Another corner being outplayed by Sherm.
https://weei.radio.com/blogs/ryan-hannable/malcolm-butler-struggles-titans-cornerback-says-he-needs-get-back-basics
Or the fact that mike persons has played at the same level for the vast majority of the season as Andrew orwell who has cost multiple times more:
https://www.jacksonville.com/sports/20180928/success-is-taking-time-for-jaguars-lineman-andrew-norwell
Sammy Watkins would be an upgrade but he has been up and down all season long. Not exactly earning the entirety of that pay check.
Everyone you listed hasn't earned their paycheck. Perhaps look past the name next time and do 5 seconds of research you'd all be losing it right now that we overspent if we had gotten the majority of those players.
