Accodring to who?

Peter King scoffed at the Cards trading him to the Rams and that was precisely what he said the reason was - double to division rival. The Niners aren't the Rams, so you speculate.
If we have the best offer they'd be retarded not to take it or insist on doubling whatever the compensation to take the deal.

Gotta give it to the 'Boys' management... They will risk anything by "all means" if they DO believe that a person is worth what they are giving up.. Who knows, maybe, just maybe, COOPER can live up to his (4th overall pick) potential at Dallas..

The Cowboys and the Jags also both rolled the dice on LBs Jaylon Smith and Miles Jack, and now, it seems to be paying off..

Thats extra 15 yards is really the difference huh? Check his numbers, he's been above average at best.

Oh you mean this truman johnson? The one Sherman is out performing? The one who is also injured?

Or how about the nate solder with an injured neck who has been apart of an awful giants line. How about the fact the Mclginchey has outplayed him thus far this season, at a cheaper price.

Or how about marcom butler. Another corner being outplayed by Sherm.

https://weei.radio.com/blogs/ryan-hannable/malcolm-butler-struggles-titans-cornerback-says-he-needs-get-back-basics

Or the fact that mike persons has played at the same level for the vast majority of the season as Andrew orwell who has cost multiple times more:

Sammy Watkins would be an upgrade but he has been up and down all season long. Not exactly earning the entirety of that pay check.

Everyone you listed hasn't earned their paycheck. Perhaps look past the name next time and do 5 seconds of research you'd all be losing it right now that we overspent if we had gotten the majority of those players.

Which is usually how free agency goes. Most of those guys who got big paydays will be cut in a few years by their respective teams leaving huge piles of dead money.

Building a team through free agency never works.

People on this board want to spend money for the sake of spending money to make them feel better. Sounds like my ex.

Lynch is far from infallible, however, if we look at the number of DBs they brought in via draft or FA, it becomes clear that they were not satisfied with what they had. Same goes for WRs. It is also clear they were not satisfied with just Marsh as witnessed by the fact the signed Attaochu.

Your criticism of JG is interesting. Is it about your perceived limitations of Garoppolo or that the WRs are small?
never was critical of jimmy.. i just said teams spent all off season looking at film. they knew coming in. the team was still bad in pass protection which we saw when jimmy was healthy. they saw if you jam our little wide outs. they are dead in the water, wide outs. they relied on garcon coming off a broken neck. ignored taylors back stuff and possible lingering effects which we are seeing. relied on goodman but he was coming off a injury. totally ignored the tight end thing behind kittle. no. there were posters who said, our wide outs were just fine. we needed an upgrade and we did need someone bigger than pettis and james. all the corners they have drafted last two years and they have gotten worse? shows me either lynch or the scouts can not scout or properly evaluate talent

You sound as if we had 12 draft picks and every free agent was coming to SF first.

Reality time, my friend. This team was a 7-8 win team at best had JG and McKinnon stayed healthy and Sherman was healthy and back to his former level. We are still a top tier draft and at least two key FA signings before we can seriously talk playoffs.

Patience isn't easy but it is required for reality.

Impossible, petulance reigns supreme in NT.
Good move not throwing a 1st for Cooper.

Yes it is, especially since we're looking at a likely top 5 pick.

Have to say I'd hate to be an Oakland fan right now but boy their draft will be a fun one as a fan...

I hope not. No effing way we're going up the first pick in the draft for Amari Cooper. LOL

They better hope they don't have a Baalke type of draft. That would kill them for many years like it is doing to us.

this is a nice way of looking at stats without context. To support your viewpoint of defending the FO's laissez faire attitude.

Why do you assume that they'd have the same numbers here? You really think Allen Robinson wouldn't have good production here with a good QB? How about Josh Gordon? He is now producing since Brady is throwing to him.

But yeah, I guess we can just stay content with an old past his prime Garcon. 5 receiving yards after 3 quarters. Lmfao. And its not like he was doing much with Jimmy G in the first two games either.

Very true. But supplementing typically works great. Also, on the flip side, solely building through the draft like us (2011) and the Rams takes like 7 years of top 10 picks for a 3 year window.

Bottom line: you have to do both. And coaching and player development are crucial elements as are game planning.

I think many of us didn't expect the large drop off Garcon made, he looked fantastic last year. But we must not forget that we spent two draft picks on receivers on as well. You act as if we didn't spend any resources in the position, which is a lie. The big issue is Pettis is injured, which just sucks.

So you think Allen Robinson would be putting up better numbers with CJ? We can only go with the info we have, which Allen Robinson doesn't look like the same player from 2015, and hasn't for a while. You talk about stats, and then rebuke my statement with a hypothetical.

I can understand the josh Gordon argument, but perhaps Kyle didn't feel comfortable with him in such a young locker room? At this point does it matter? Our season was over as soon as jimmy decided he was a running back. They more than likely want the draft picks for the future rather than trying to win meaningless games now.
