Lambs gave it to the Seaducks.

What does this team need?

QB
WR
DB (> 2)
Pass rusher

Of course a new GM is long due.

Pretty much the same things needed for the past three seasons. What does that say?
After seeing the score but missing the game, I thought this was a blowout.
After seeing the highlights and some of the passes that Cam made and the catches his receivers made I have a completely different opinion.
Didn't expect the team to win but 27 points against that defense even with a fumble and two interceptions and some of the ridiculous plays the Panthers made and
I came away excited. Too many blown coverages, and some real dumb mistakes but young team on a real short week against a really really good team.
WHAT THE HELL DO SOME OF YOU PEOPLE EXPECT.
The Seahawks just got beat by the Rams for god sakes.
This is about what I expected to see.

Thst you didn't know we needed lineman last year?

It's bizarre the way people acted around here about good QBing and all that other hoopla and then calling the play today decent. The guy completed 30% of his passes, was wildly inaccurate (people said there were a bunch of drops, there were 2. Cam had 5). Even on the TD to Smith, inaccurate pass again. Save for maybe 3-4 throws, he was bad throwing the ball. If he played at a competent level, we might have won the game. He even got a 2nd and 3rd chance to win the game at the end and threw 2 picks.

47.2%

QBR of 43.5

Their D did.

The only team that brings it on offense are the Cards. However, we are not THAT far behind. Rams' and Hawks' offense, respectively, look like bullcrap.

Seattle was very explosive last year on offense. This year, so far, not so much. But they have our number so we'll see what happens next week. My bold prediction was that we beat them week 3. I'm sticking to that

Imho, this one was a perfect throw. He put the ball where only Torrey could have had him.

Lol at the underlined text passage. We scored 27 points. You win about 60% of all games if you scored 27 points, imho. Furthermore, Vance dropped a TD.
On top of that, we should have scored 40+ points which is quite impossible for a team with an avg QB, scrubs at WR save for Torrey and a new system. The probability of winning todays game with a HOF QB was around 1%.

Yup...at least we are scoring pts. Should have scored more both games.

Avg 26 pts in two weeks against top tier Ds.
Things we learned today, pluses and minuses:

Minuses,
The quarterback of the future is not on the roster.
Jim O'Neil is doing some on the job learning
We need a little more creativity form Bodkins in the run game
Bowman needs a running mate
Bruce Millers lead blocking is going to be hard to replace
Our pass rush is anemic

Gabber can find the open receiver, and make good choices
The O-line can pass block
Vance is excelling in system
The team has heart

When the minuses outnumber the pluses, its hard to win.

This could have been a win, we had open receivers, and had Gabbert been better today, this game is closer. His poor performance helped Carolina stack the box.

The defensive game plan seemed to be contain Newton and make him beat us with his arm....something he is very capable of doing, poor plan if that was the intent. No effort seemed to made in forcing him off the mark.

Not a "bad" loss for a rebuilding team, but i hoped for better.

Imho Vance McDonald bobbling that goose egg at the 55 iced the game, I almost knew we'd get a pick/sack/fumble the following play. There's always a 'bad' play to ensue a failed 'gamechanging' play, seeing it everywhere this season.

I think the 49ers are a lot happier this weekend than the Seahawks. Keeping the NFC champions on their toes up until the final ten minutes and scoring 27 points is nothing to be ashamed of. Would have liked to have seen the run game do better, but that's Carolina's strength so it's to be expected. No idea what you do against Kelvin Benjamin with our roster... maybe drop Buckner back in coverage lol :D
