I'd much rather get that QB and then worry about surrounding them with WRs afterwards. The right QB makes every facet of your offense better from the OL to the run game to the receivers.

Our WR situation is worse. Our best WR is Smith with a huge drop after him.

I don't even like Smith that much. He has always been a one trick pony it is all deep ball with him.

We're much improved at oline, coaching and our depth at RBs looks much better than last year... starting QB will do enough to help win games.
i hear you....

but this line is much better then it was last year....it could be surprising....

Yeah but that's a hell of a trick if you can take advantage of it. Baltimore racked up beaucoup pass interference penalties 30 or 40 yards down the field just throwing it up to him. Defenses always have to honor his speed as long as your quarterback is even slightly competent. Teams can't cheat with their safeties as much because of the potential of him breaking one off of playaction.

He's a gamechanging kind of player with the right playcalling. I think Kelly will find ways to take advantage of his speed just like he did with Desean Jackson his first year in Philly.

It is, but it requires a complementary reliable primary receiver to really carry the load. When they had a younger version of a Bolden it really worked without him Smith has regressed badly and we don't even have Bolden the elder here any longer. I am not saying he is bad, just that he isn't really what we need right now in a top receiver.
We deep deep in qb hell with no help in site. Our qb's suck

You always can work with a guy that is a true deep threat. I do agree that some other receiver will have to step up alongside him. Hopefully Patton can be that guy because it would simplify things a lot if he can be that intermediate receiver. Then you have Kerley or Ellington in the slot, as well as McDonald, Hyde in the backfield and if the OL holds up, the QB should have some options, especially with Kelly running the offense.
QB is never going to be a quick fix. Gotta roll with what we have this year and get one early in the draft.

WR is worse right now. Torrey is the deep man but that's all. Need some guys to capitalize off that and make some plays. I like Patton but he's got to do it on the field and Ellington always too hurt. White might show something when he gets more snaps. Can't comment on Smelter, he's got time. Hopefully Kerley can make some plays, we need him to.
Look at the Patriots they come up with wide receivers from everywhere and none early in the draft. IMO the QB makes the receiver (unless he's Jerry).

Bill Belichick is awful at drafting WR's so he basically just said "f**k it." Now they rummage around and find a bunch of short slot receivers that they swarm defenses with and somehow these guys end up looking stellar because Brady is an ace.

You have to have one or the other really. Megatron, Dez, Julio these were/ are guys who take a just OK QB and make them top ten. Or you can have an all star QB and your receivers can be just dudes. We have neither...and coming from the embarrassment of riches that was having both for most of my childhood and teens it just sucks. I am dying for just one at this point....either one, don't care....but I want a game breaking offensive player. Gore is the closest we have had in YEARS and even he was a little bit more of a slow and steady wins the race sort of dude.

I would love Aj McCarron

Not sure what the love affair with McCarron is exactly. He looked decent in his time playing but nothing that makes me go "wow, this guy is going to be a star." He looks like an average to slightly above average game manager type.

Woe be to whatever team gives him big bucks in free agency and discovers that they've wound up with the modern version of Rob Johnson.

I'm just going to sit and wait for moons trade proposal for Rodgers, Brady, or Brees
