i agree McCarron has some real potential. Bengal would probably be willing to trade him for the right price. I could see them picking up Kap if we release him to backup Dalton

Watching the Browns,...he is still a mess.

IMO, you go with Gabbert, keep grooming Driskel and draft a QB early in 2017. I also look at the cuts and see if there's any salvable guys there.

This is gonna be a long season regarding QB plays expect to have flashbacks of Rattay, JT O Sullivan and rookie Alex Smith. I hope we can draft someone next year. Driskell has potential but I'm not sure if he is a franchise QB.
I don't know, I am not expecting any Niner QB to catch on fire this year but there is a lot of areas the Niners need to improve on that they may actually make strides in like the o-line and developing the young defenders. No they won't make any playoffs but I think they will show some improvement, Gabbert will be fine but not great and they can pick up a new young QB next year and for once have an o-line that won't murder him within 2 games.

I remember when buttfumble was looking really good when he took over in philly, it only lasted a few weeks before melt down. Im hopeful that happens with gabbert but without the melt down part...

Aside from QBs, I'm also hoping that one of the WRs becomes a reliable target.

We've got 3 qbs who can run well and one (ponder) who is decent running.
They will need to run off great reads; it's that x factor which will keep our 3rd down % out of the fail zone.
We need 3 runners cuz they will get injured, but they have to run for this to work.
Running backs and qb passing prowess is not going to cut it.

We have a bunch of guys who I would classify as solid contribution players. They do one or two things well but are nothing special. Much like the QB position I am so tired of just having guys. I want a real number one. I want THE guy.

Our WR situation is worse. Our best WR is Smith with a huge drop after him.

This is more what concerns me.
