All I know is that we are definitely going to be better than last year. You can say what you want but these parts of our team have vastly improved from last year:

In before people trash the thread. Happy Friday y'all, game days tomorrow. Arrows will be up on QB/WRs/LBs soon as far as production goes IMO.
After week 5 is when we'll know what direction the team is going in, players more so specifically.

It may not manifest itself by the team's record this season, but the arrow is still pointing up for the roster (and the football side of the organization). I'd love for the team to win, but what I want most is to see development and improvement from our young players. Let the cream rise to the top and discard the crap.
Regardless of whether the team shocks everybody (and plays above their reputation) or not, the top level talent infusion needs to continue. Which means it won't be such a bad thing if the team doesn't do well because we'll get a good draft slot. One of the reasons the team was in such a great position to flourish in 2011-13 is because we were (previously) consistently in position to grab top level talent (even if we didn't always get it right, and even if we also found some of our talent in late round gems).
In spite of the mistakes I thought the team didn't look that bad in the first half against the Texans last week. This next game against the Broncos will undoubtedly be tough, but it will also be a good test for the youngsters. Hopefully we come out of this game in good health.

He was just a bit nervous, even the great jerry rice struggled early. Expect big things from him, you heard it here first.

Hoping to see him play well this pre-season

They have 6 RB fumbles and 2 PR fumbles in two games. Is that a new record for pre season?

I have to say that I'm feeling a lot better about the state of the team than I thought I would at this point. Kelly clearly has a good offensive system and a good mind for play calling - I think we can already see that. The defense has been better than I expected, even without the two young big guys up front. I think the secondary has been very, very good.
I have to keep in mind that the Niners have the hardest schedule in the league this year though. It's hard to imagine anything better than about 8-8, but you never know. That offense is already clicking. We'll see.

We have some very good young talent. We will run into some unfortunate losses in our journey in learning how to win.

Looking forward to finishing gam s this year. if Chip can dictate for 2-3 quarters, defenses are gassed. The game as a body of work, scoring points in the 4th quarter will come easier with favorable game flow. Opening games with 2-3 three and outs is death at this pace. Those games will get ugly and it will be our Def who will be gassed.
It's cool to know 4th and inches on plus yard lines will be quickly snapped and formations will have some spacing.

We are ranked 2nd in yards per game on offense and 23rd on defense...not that it matters...
or does it?
