Absolutely and no offense intended. Every year I wish that any one of the Niner QB's could have an epiphany or something and turn into the next Joe Montana.

I am not sure if I agree if we do a player by player breakdown. I think the only edge the 2014 OL has on the 2016 OL is Iupati at LG. The 2014 OL was horrible at pass protection. Chemistry does not make up for pass protection suckage.

OL
Staley, Garnett vs Iupati, Kilgore, A. Davis vs Boone, Brown vs A. Davis -- I would give the edge to A. Davis at RG since Boone did have some consistency issues and Davis is moving from a tougher position to an easier one. As for Iupati, one could possibly say that his pass blocking was subpar and Garnett may have the edge on that.

DL
AA vs Ray McDonald -- from what has been said about AA now, I think he plays stronger in 2016 than Ray did in 2014.
Purcell vs Dorsey -- obviously Dorsey
DeFo vs J. Smith -- no contest with Smith here

OLB
Lynch vs Lynch
Ray Ray vs Borland -- Borland due to the stats but let's see how Ray Ray does here as Borland was weak in coverage where Ray Ray will make up in
Bowman vs Bowman
Brooks vs Brooks/Carradine

DB
2016 DB's are easily stronger than the 2014 DB

The main position of advantage for the 2014 team would be WR with #2 Crabtree being better than any of our #2's. The 2014 team went 8-8 with one of the worst pass blocking in the league. I can't stress how much the 2015 offseason/coaching clusterf**k did our team in. Think we will easily pass 2015 win total by 3 wins.

The thing is that youre making a lot of assumptions based on what guys have looked liked in the offseason. As is the norm, some of these guys will not replicate that in the regular season.

The OL will have some struggles. You dont just throw a bunch of guys together and expect them to crush it right out of the gate. There will be growing pains and games where you want to cuss out every guy on that OL.

You have an unproven DC with an iffy track record, a really young secondary and no doninant pass rushers. There will be times that they get lit up.

QB is a ????? and I think you'll see games where this offense more closely resembles a Geep Chryst offense because of the QBs inability to take advantage of defensive lapses.

Call me a pessimist but looking at the schedule, I think 6-7 wins is what is reasonable to me. Too much change going on, too many young players, it will be a roller coaster.

We can actually afford to I.R. him to add another roster spot...designation for return?

Very smart move! Battle at LG between Garnett and Davis. You heard it here first...actually, second...I said it yesterday too. LOL

Is it really worth doing on a 5th-6th corner ?

So you'd start Tiller at RG? Has Davis ever practiced at LG?

He was a 3rd round pick so yeah IR Redmond.
Pre season thoughts . Positive outlook for the team as a whole , at least we resemble an nfl team agian . Defence looks better im liking the schemes and pressure packages . its going to be real tough making the cuts on that side of the ball . Not sold on anyone beside bowman they all look mediocre at best wish someone would stand out . Agree arrow is up . Offence im liking the 3 receiver sets but were yet to show we can throw deep .Im thinkin kap may be the only one on this team that can throw torreys way . Scared to death hyde gets hurt , man what a blow that would be to us . Hopin we keep 3 qbs and driskell goes to ps , i really really wanna see what ponder could do for us . Maybe with his head clear now and body healed right up could be a steal . Maybe sitting at home and thinking his career was over inspires the crap outta him . Could be our leader if we keep him around long enough and be the signing that shocks everybody .

Could have taken Prescott instead

Oh s**t. I felt movement in the pants reading about Beadles giving a go at Center.

You wear pants?

I think I like Driskle better, but I'm not sure. Driskle is very fast, has a very nice throwing motion and a big arm.

Yes, absolutely. Tiller and Brown are crushing it. You don't mess with chemistry. Moving Davis to LG means that if Staley gets hurt, Davis can easily step over to LT (like Boone moving to LG last year). It's smart. We've been weak on the left side this pre season esp. compared to the right side. Davis would add immediate punch there and help Staley out.

Prescott does have the advantage by playing with Dallas' starters, Driskel is in there with a bunch of practice squad guys, but I think I like Prescott better.

Probably not esp. since Ward can slide in if needed and we'd have Dontae/Robinson for outside. Nah, just I.R. him. If Chris Davis didn't show up, I'm sure they would have pushed him but no rush now.
