Actually the idea of winning a super bowl every year is for suckers.

People that can't handle losing in the post season and would rather not make the playoffs are cowards.

Nothing wrong with setting lofty goals. Would you rather our goal be something less?

The goal is to win a super bowl.

In reality that isn't going to happen so you put the best team out there and enjoy good football and winning games and hopefully the team can make a push through.

Blowing up the team ever 3-4 years isn't going to get it done.

Yucks are on thier 7th coach in 16 years and third in the last three. If you guys are expecting a winnig formula from the FO, that isn't it.

Hopefully Kelly can survive this knee jerking FO long enough to get better players to implement his system.

We have a long track record.....You can't deny this.

Can you name another team that had owners who were "bad at football" that played in the Super Bowl recently?

"We haven't won a super bowl since 1994."

- Jed

You really want to quote people? Ok, what about this one?

Would you rather go to the super bowl and lose or not even make playoffs?

What's your point? Jed is the one who set that ridiculous standard himself and his family hasn't done squat in 16 years but pretended 4 years and three NFCC titles and a super bowl appearance wasn't good enough.

My point is, there are owners who are satisfied with profit margin and those that want to win. Jed, wants to win and has won recently. It's hard to win in the NFL, so it doesn't happen by accident.

Am I a Jed fan? No. Does he meddle where he shouldn't sometimes? Yes. Is he the worst owner we could have? I don't think so.

if you go to the super bowl ,. you do your best to win it , you expect the coaches to do the same. losing a super bowl is the worst feeling a niner fan should have. it is much much easier to get over a first round playoff loss or even a championship game loss than it is the super bowl in my opinion. its never ok as a niner fan.. just to be happy we are there. losers mentality

Can win a SB when you aren't in one

Yes they do. True. Denise was a Debartolo as well, Jed is offspring. I still hold out hope.

She had nothing to do with those years. She was a silent partner and never interfered with Eddie's operation and it was beautiful.

of course that happens when you have a billion dollars worth of cap space....

Or when there is no understanding of how things work in the real world. Then things just fit whatever view you take. That way you never have to clutter up an issue with facts.
Haters. 49ers are worth so much because they are the Sanfrancisco 49ers. Legendary sports team worth 5 championships and many more to come.

Derp no sense in even going down this road of explanation again and again. Value of the franchise has ZERO to do with cap space. Outside of this off season they have spent most of their cap space evey year! They don't go all-in ONE off season and now people think Jeds pocketing non existent money to make SF more profitable, in reality that money WILL and HAS to be spent on players....Use some commen sense when trying to hate on "your" team.

LOL.

Has nothing to do with cap space.

NEW STADIUM = a TON of new revenue streams.

In addition, regardless of the product on the field, they are one of the most recognizable franchises in all of professional sports, in a brand new facility, in the 4th largest market in the US.

Not Rocket Science.

4th?

NY , LA , Chicago, philly , Dallas, SF

Was guesstimating. 6th is accurate. Point still valid.

Just read that Levi's cost $1.3B to build. So that's about half of it.

1) 49ers don't own stadium. Cost of the stadium doesn't factor into the value.
2) The stadium still has significant debt attached to it, so even if they DID own it, it wouldn't factor 1.3 billion of the teams value.
3) What has the teams value up so much are the potential revenue streams that result from the contracts involved with the stadium (not just NFL games) and the fact that ALL NFL franchises are becoming more valuable.

1,2) The stadium lease is a revenue producing asset when you consider the present value of future stadium revenues. The reason being leases to stadiums guarantee the lessee access to revenue streams. In effect, a stadium which produces more revenue would increase a franchises value.

Other) Also forgetting brand goodwill (the 49ers name and customers, etc.) and the value of the certification as an NFL franchise (think how much prospective owners must pay during NFL expansion attempts).
Real estate, pure and simple.
