I used to detest the term "homer". But these days it seems to be leveled at anyone that tries to be pragmatic, that doesn't support outrageous lies or ridiculous attacks on the owners or the GM, that expects facts instead of lunatic theories, gets labeled a Homer. So I guess that us something to be proud of.

What is really funny is that all of the criticism I have posted about the Yorks and Baalke over the years, but backed up with hopefully some semblance of facts, doesn't count. It only counts if it is crazy stuff. In my wildest dreams I never thought I would be considered an apologist for the FO, Lol!

Haha same here there's plenty of things I don't agree with consurning the FO as well, but because I like facts and not some outlandish remarks flying out of my butt I've been labeled a FO lover

Oh well...I'm getting pumped for training camp and seeing what this staff can do over the next couple seasons.
10th most valuable franchise in the world....does not spend one dime of cap space. Lmao

Me too. On both counts...

Great post question. Why is perfect. Our presumed starting qb is a complete joke. Our starting running back is injury prone. Our head coach was about to be run out of the league. Our front office fired and ran off the best coach we've had since Walsh. If you were in wall street you'd buy the 9ers heavy right now, we are a laughing stock. Mostly we're a laughing stock because of kaepernick. If I've said it once I've said it one million, f**kin, times! Cut or trade him now! He's a destructive force, just his presence alone now. Cut kaep whatever the cost and things will begin to improve.

Just FYI, that "best coach since Walsh" is the reason why that Kaepernick guy that you hate so much is starting right now.

Gosh I hate the hypocrisy of our fanbase sometimes.

Forbes ranks the 49ers as the 10th highest value in all of pro sports, 5th in the NFL behind Cowboys, Pats, Giants and Skins. Jeb has his spoiled little behind sitting on a 2.7 billion dollar franchise.

My question is why? Is the 49er brand really that popular, or is the rent just too damn high? Is it all the tech companies buying out the suites at Levi's? I know Jeb isn't selling that much merchandise these days with the nonames on the roster. Plus I can get all that stuff from eBay or Mexico for a tenth of the retail price. It must just be the new stadium right?

new stadium and cough cough silicon valley is in their backyard

location location location
Harbaugh making the franchise relevant again and Jed turning that into a brand new stadium which hosts tons of events and naming/branding rights
Denise York been turning tricks in the Tenderloin again.

Just read that Levi's cost $1.3B to build. So that's about half of it.

1) 49ers don't own stadium. Cost of the stadium doesn't factor into the value.
2) The stadium still has significant debt attached to it, so even if they DID own it, it wouldn't factor 1.3 billion of the teams value.
3) What has the teams value up so much are the potential revenue streams that result from the contracts involved with the stadium (not just NFL games) and the fact that ALL NFL franchises are becoming more valuable.

1,2) The stadium lease is a revenue producing asset when you consider the present value of future stadium revenues. The reason being leases to stadiums guarantee the lessee access to revenue streams. In effect, a stadium which produces more revenue would increase a franchises value.

Other) Also forgetting brand goodwill (the 49ers name and customers, etc.) and the value of the certification as an NFL franchise (think how much prospective owners must pay during NFL expansion attempts).

Wasn't suggesting the stadium didn't drastically improve value of the franchise. Of course it did. I'm just saying its not as simple as "stadium worth 1.3 mil, so thats half the value of the team". Doesn't work that way.

as for "other", agree completely.
