well it's a good thing Devey was cut, lol but yeah Pears is the 9th highest paid player on the team

Browns traded back and gained a ton of picks by not staying and taking the flashy QB.

Both teams have new coaches and systems.

Players.
RGIII and Kap are both smiling and cashing checks. Even if backups.

Both teams are headed for a fight to the 1st pick in the 2017 draft.

Sounds the same to me.

Sure you can throw out similarities, but you can also throw out differences.

• SF grabbed a HC that has a little more experience and a better record on the job.
• Cleveland lost 5 starters vs SF who lost 1
• Celveland's OL took a major step back SF's took a step forward.
• You could say we drafted the best DL/OG in the draft and Cleveland didn't with their early picks.
• Besides DB what position would you say Cleveland is currently better at? Maybe TE?
• Do you think the Brown's personnel got better than last year? Do you think our personnel got better than last year?

We can cut Pears and it would only cost $250K...praying he's not the start come day 1. $3.3 million for a backup RT isn't awful with all the cap space we have.

I'll tell ya I'd be much happier cutting Pears giving his cash to Monroe 1 yr $5 million (only have to come up with like $1.5 million after the cut).

That's actually not a horrible trade for us since it would fix our offensive line and allow us to see what we have on offense, but I'm not that anxious to acquire a 31 year old on a rebuilding team. All these guys are signed for 2 more years and Thomas will be worth more than Lynch and Reid combined for two more years.

I don't know why the Browns would make this trade when they're also rebuilding. They could get high draft picks from another team that is currently competitive and may have a shorter title window (Cardinals, Patriots, Seahawks, etc.). We aren't getting him unless we include draft picks in the trade and I don't think we want to do that.

Trading with other rebuilding teams for their veterans makes no sense. If anything, we should be trying to get draft picks for some of our own veterans (that aren't team leaders).

Man, losing Lynch for the first 4 games sure doesn't help our defensive unit. Looks like Brooks is pretty much guaranteed to play this year for us. I'm still hoping for Pears to get cut, Miller to get traded, and perhaps another small move here or there. Gaining more cap space really isn't needed, but why pay Pears 3+ million to be a horrible back up, when we can save most of that money by cutting him, and actually have a young guy get the back up playing time? This way we could actually see what we have in some of these guys, instead of playing old vets that don't have any type of future here.

Don't really see any point in trading any of our younger players.

I would take less than that. Package him with a few others on here, give up a 6th, and trade them for a box of twinkies in 2018.
