That depth chart is created by the media department. The official depth chart will be seen on Monday at game time. I don't think the coaches release anything official.
IMO both lines are looking good but I expected Buckner to start over Purcell. I'm disappointed but i think by the end of the season Buckner will be the full time starter.

Chris Davis is the starting KR, with Kerley #2. Interesting.

Kerley is the only listed PR.

I'd expect Dorsey to supplant Purcell once he's fully healthy.

Yup, Davis had a 25.1 yard return average with the Chargers. He and Kerley should be nice upgrades there!
I'm sure both Carradine and Buckner will see plenty of action in Nickel / passing down situations.

Carradine is new to OLB. Let him focus on what he does best...get after the QB.

Buckner is going to be a beast, but needs to learn how to consistently play with leverage to better play the run on early downs.

Surprises to me are Purcell at NT. Thought the DEs would be AA/DeFo with Dial at NT. Also, Harold getting the nod over Tank. I'm sure there will be a rotation, but I thought Tank outplayed Harold.

After seeing this, I don't buy it.

Ray-Ray a co starter? Impressed by A. Davis moving to Guard and being the day 1 starter he must look much better than Tiller and Garnett. A little disappointed in Harold starting but I get it. Can't wait to see this team
Will be interesting yo see this team on Monday night! Go 49ers
Tank is obviously a passing down player due to his crapness at sealing the edge.

Guys that should not be on the team:

Wilhoite < Skov

Tartt > Bathea

I think having Bathea around is about veteran presence in the locker room as well. I'm sure Tartt will see plenty of action.
Buckner is a monster and will be a beast in the future. I don't see amazing things this year for him though. I think he will be good. He will make mistakes but will improve week to week. The learning curve at his position is a 2-3 year deal. If he does impress this year then you just know he is getting it a bit faster. By next year Arms 3rd and Bucks 2nd is when I think we will start to see these 2 guys showing what the Deuce Ducks can really do with each other.

Agreed. Hoping there's some last minute hope that we find a strong replacement for WIlhoite. The guys is downright abysmal in coverage. If I were an opposing offense, I would design plays to just have my TE post up against him on short and intermediate routes.

Dude can't even tackle more either. I saw him TWICE run outside the hole to where the RB just ran through the open vacated hole. This means he's not learning either. Can't rush, can't tackle, can't cover and can't learn.

Careful with those realistic expectations and reasoning. Every player should be an all pro right out of the gate.

Chip Kelly front 7's sub in and out like no ones business.
This depth chart just shows how disorganized 49ers staff/admin is. Baalke trying to outsmart himself by labeling it unofficial.

Maybe this is Kelly's actual chart and control freak Baalke doesn't like it. I bet that's what it is.
