How many wins next year for Kelly's first season to be considered successful?

It depends what Seattle and Arizona do. If they're both contenders and we go 8-8 I'd still call it a successful year because of the improvement. If one slips and the division is easier I'd put the wild card as the floor to a successful year.

It has to be playoffs.

Wild card at least.

Since Zona didn't go to the Super Bowl, they just might comeback stronger.

Seattle has peaked.

Rams have no identity and are moving elsewheres.


Niners are the wild card. I've seen gimmick offenses work in the beginning, (Tebow,Russ,Kaep,RG) but since Chip has already shown his cards, who knows what will happen. This team still does not have more pro bowl caliber starters than the cards or maybe even the Hawks. Who knows but odds are it's an uphill battle.

A number of ways at looking at it.

For me, a winning record is most important.

BUT - when it comes to losses - it's how we lose.

Getting blown out is a failure - no debate.

Losing on a bad call or a fluke isn't acceptable but easier to tolerate because there is still hope and a chance to stay alive.

Last year I lost ALL hope.

7 or 8 would be most realistic.

Just for fun, I'm predicting 11-5 or 12-4. It's not farfetched at all, especially if we get a big upgrade in the coaching staff, which I think will be the case.

The oline could vastly improve as well as the entire defense and scheme. We've got a decent amount of good players on both sides already on deck.

honestly i dont think playoffs is realistic

barring major injuries i see no way we can compete with cardinals or seattle

even the rams are a decent qb away from maybe being ahead of us

An article out says the 49ers have the toughest schedule on paper. Last year we had the 2nd toughest and the year before that I think it was the 3rd or 4th. Each time we got less wins. Hopefully we can show otherwise.

yup our division highly inflates that but a lot will change after FA
