The clock stopping kind of makes the game more intense in a way. It builds the suspense between plays.

Its like with baseball, people who arent fans often think its boring because of the gaps between each pitch. Whereas the baseball fans love that part, because tension builds up between each pitch, and makes the outcome more exciting.
Well I hate baseball, even more than soccer, but probably a good point.

Ok I said earlier it was good not great. Think I was a bit harsh, it was Very Good!

MVP = Hyde. My wife and mates on Facebook who had never watched a full game of NFL before all were talking up number 28. Think the Aussies realise now what a great RB really looks like. That spin for the TD was just amazing and entertaining. He was making big yards even after hard initial contacts.
Bowman and the defense guys crushed it! Bowman is a beast and just can't be stopped!
Bethea? I hadn't heard of him during preseason, thought he did several important plays. Also Brock, lynch and Acker did good things. Can't believe I know names in the D other than Bowman.
The O line - Wow, well played by sand bagging it during the preseason. They controlled it awesome, they took the Viking D what ever direction they wanted. I loved watching the O line moving the defense to the left or right, opening up a whole side of the field. And they also stayed in place at times creating great pockets for Kaep. I don't remember him being sacked at all. I'm guessing they were the big reason for Hydes great night.
Kaep, that first drive was fantastic, then he got to the Red zone and froze a bit I thought. I thought he got better as the night went on. His running game was spot on, that run taking a big hit and bouncing straight back up show me his determination for a big season. In the pre season I though his movement was to the run, but tonight he was stepping into or staying on the pocket, I guess having confidence in your o line does that.
TE Davis frustrated me a bit, but that's probably because I have him in fantasy and dropped a few sitters and they didn't use him as much as I thought they would.
Ellington showed his blazing speed for his disallowed PR TD.
Hayne, broke my heart with the fumble, he is better than that, and hoping they show faith and give him another go next week at PR. his 9 yard rush I really enjoyed as he looked like a running back in the tight stuff for the first time for me.

The Jerseys did not make for good TV, watched the game in HD and struggled to make out the Red numbers on Black on the long shots. Needed a white or gold border around the numbers I think. Cheer girls looked great!
Penalties! Bloody hell, that was the coaches thing all preseason and they still give away a lot of stupid ones and got lucky on a few big plays by not getting called.
Hard to know where we sit as I'm not sure how good or bad Vikings are as a whole and in D and Offense compared to others.
I won my first ever game played in NFL Fantasy so that was great even with low scoring Davis as my TE and Gore as one of my RB's...

Anyway great start to the season

Vikings. The Paramatta eels of the NRL. Still a wins a win. Carlos Hyde will lose his job to Hayne this week.
14 million listeners to the radio broadcast in Australia
Just a heads up to y'all new guys to the nfl and the 49ers webzone. After each game there is a coaches film review post by some awesome members of this site. They break down plays in great detail and is one of the things I look forward to the most on here. If you want to expand you knowledge definitely check it out. Welcome aboard vatos! Niners baby!

Lol no way that happened but this is fact. And you can only imagine those numbers will go up when it's on Free to Air TV
"Jarryd Hayne's NFL regular-season debut for the San Francisco 49ers drew a television audience of 116,000 for ESPN in Australia, topping last season's record mark of 107,100 for the Super Bowl XLVIII.

Monday's match against the Minnesota Vikings was broadcast live at 12.15pm and was the biggest audience ever for the sports network, according to media, marketing and entertainment website Mumbrella.

The news is also set to please the Seven Network which last week secured the rights to broadcast 14 of the 49ers' regular season matches."

Dunno...I did hear something like fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! when Hayne fumbled. 14 million people might accomplish something like that.

Just relaying what Ted Robinson said on KNBR this morning. He said that the radio station that picked up the game for broadcast in Australia has 14 million listeners daily. Now, how many of them actually stayed tuned in during a sporting event from across the globe is another matter entirely.

Ok cool. But they would be wrong. Our population is not even double that. Most people under 18 were in school classes.
It was played by one of the more popular radio stations Triple M but it was played on their secondary channel. In other words thru their app or on digital radio.
Sounds good though lol
This thread is awesome. Seriously. It makes me want to drink a Fosters
