thanks!!! good info. I have a bunch of journos on a twitter feed list. based on what I read of Cohn, you are spot on.Originally posted by NCommand:Welcome. Kawkami
Killion
Florio
Cohn
Gutierrez
We call them KKFCG for short. But we ALL know them well.
The ones you DO want to read are:
The "Matts" in Barrows & Maiocco
Inman
MMQB articles
A few others are hit and miss...avoid most national media crap from ESPN, PFT, etc. Their knowledge of the team is superficial at BEST.

Tomsula knows who is doing what return duties but is trolling the glut of Australian media and Bay Area media by not revealing specific PR/KR for Monday. Very smart I might add.

As it pertains to that list, just remember keep an open mind...All the names on the list he informed you NOT to read (w/ the exception of Gutierrez) are COLUMNISTS. They're paid to give opinion. Most of those names have been rather negative on the team -especially as of late - so you can imagine how fans might have a bit more angst toward them.
The "two Matts" and Cam Inman are REPORTERS. They offer very little opinion in their pieces as their job is to report the comings and goings of the team on a day-to-day basis. Harder to hate when the format is more of "just the fact ma'am" type, ya know?
Bottom line, I like to read nearly everything written about the team, because A. I can't get enough! and B. I enjoy seeing as much perspective as possible. Grant Cohn is the only one on the list that I have little to no interest in simply because his writing style is rather weak and his desire to be contrarian is extremely transparent.
Loving the Aussie explosion in 49ers fandom! Welcome aboard!

Totally agree. In his press conference today he said "it'll be the same group you've seen this preseason"...Well I saw a heckuva a lot of Hayne

Trying to curb my enthusiasm for Hayne - although it's tough to do - as it would not shock me if the team strictly start him out as a gunner or heck even keep him off the active 46. My gut tells me he's the best return man on the team right now, but will the team admit that as far as week one is concerned?
Ellington and White both seem capable as well, with Bruce showing what he can do when given some space last week.
Not sure where the team is on putting Bush back there full-time. seems like Tomsula has gone to great lengths to limit his snaps this preseason.
Not sure I understand your question. For the team to "admit it" suggests they know Hayne is the best returner.....why would they want to keep that secret? Do you mean they might want to unleash him later on a different team, like the Seahags, so they will keep their best return guy under wraps for now? I doubt we can afford to not play our best players. Or did you mean "realize" instead of "admit'? Count me confused!!

i keep hearing that Hayne does not have enough experience returning punts and kickoffs. All I can say is watch a rugby game.
