He's on the roster for a reason and he'll be returning punts from the first one on.

It's smart to keep Ellington, based on his injuries, unexposed and fresh for the WR position - where he'd be more valuable.

The stupid Giants ruined an excellent Safety by having him return punts. He got injured and his career was burnt toast.

Hayne earned the PR job. He should get it.

The only reason he may not is if he doesn't make game day actives.

If you look at the supposedly starters game there was only 2 punt returns for 49ers that game against broncos. Bush took the first punt for 4 yards and was unconvincing and Hayne took the 2nd punt return of the game for 12 yards but had little room.

JT has a lot more to loose if he plays someone different than Hayne in punt return. Hayne has been the standout in all pre season in this area and JT will end up with egg on his face if he tries Ellington, Bush or Davis and they fail! However if Hayne does get the starting job and also fails he always got the "he's still a rookie" to fall back on!

it's a no brainer! he has to pick Hayne!!

Why would you pick a return specialist in your 53 if you don't use him game day?
I can see him on both sides of Special teams. Protecting Bush and Ellington for a whole season.
I guess If they do use Ellington it's because they plan to get their yards in the game thru rushing and not receptions which looks the way to me so far this preseason.
Would be funny in the sense that Austrailan radio stations have run competitions and gave away return flights with accomodation and game passes to watch Hayne in the season opener.

Id go with Hayne, why risk a starting offensive player, when you have Hayne. He is talented, and needs to get used to playing full speed.

White was outplayed by hayne as a return guy. I would be surprised if hayne doesn't get the nod.

Dont be scurrred, i like reading the nrl and aussie fans give their input outside of the hayne plane thread. The last paragraph i wasnt sure what you meant by it. So australia are running competitions and giving away travelin accomodations to watch Hayne at a niner game?

Having Haynie as the return guy is a no brainer. He has been doing it since he was a kid. Soft hands, no fear, great vision. Besides, how many NFL teams can say they have a whole country watching their opening game.
