pretty sure his longest scamper was more than that

Alex Smith was 16/18 171 and 2 td last week

LOL

So what your saying is Alex is getting more attempts to get ready for the season in one game than Kap has gotten all preseason and as a result is looking more polished. Makes sense.
actually philly, the poster was just trying to turn this thread into a bash ck or a smith vs ck thread. he and they just can not help themselves

very untrue

Bradford is on a new team with a new coach and a new system. Didn't he go 10/10 with 3 scores?
i have not changed my opinion one bit and as a piggy back unless you have some sort of an ax to grind, in my opinion, you never get to high or to low on what happens in pre season. we have countless examples
if some people would opt to rip hayne and say what he is doing in pre season is worthless, you would have lots of people upset cuz they like him
you got a whole bunch of people who hate ck and and micromanage what he does in pre season ripping ck for bad plays. then on the other side of their mouth when he makes a good play in games or practice, they say, meh,, its practice. pre season means nothing to me. lawrence phillips busted off a 80 yard td run in pre season, what happen to him and do not get me started on korey sheets ,nate davis etc. in pre season not to long ago people tore bowman apart in pre season saying we will rue the day we let spikes go. in my opinion, if team comes out and can not score touchdowns in the first couple games of the year then we have a different conversation. for some reason, alot of people want to speed up that conversation.

There are many levels as to how you can judge talent.

Hayne for example is showing me he is fearless catching punts. Has good moves. Great vision. He did it against teams #1 return units.

Kap has an amazing skill set. My question is his mental part of the game.

Lawrence Phillips was a player with a lot of potential. His problem was he did not have the work ethic to become a good player. Last I heard he tried to run someone over with his car after a flag football game and is now in prison.

I don't need regular season games to see that the OL is going to struggle. Denver was an great test and they failed hard. I don't want to hear excuses about game plans. It's blocking! Block the guy in front of you and you've done your job. Get tossed aside like a rag doll and you've not done your job. It's not rocket science. It's just science.

49ers are 31st in yards in the pre season
Seattle is 32nd

lol

And the media's take? Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl!

Haha good point. I try to tune out predictions like that, but first-hand statements made by coaching staffs tend to be pretty meaningful in my book.

Seahawks also have only one offensive touchdown and it was with 2 mins left in the 4th quarter of one of their games and it was a fourth string QB throwing a TD to a 5th string wide receiver against 6th string scrubs.
The reality is that the only difference, from an output perspective, is that we are getting the plays off much quicker. But everything else basically looks like last year. Running game looks pretty solid (like last year); offensive line lacks cohesion and is not giving the QBs much time to throw (like last year); even when he has time, Kap is not staying in the pocket (like last year); our red zone efficiency is horrible (like last year); our passing game in general is played in a 7 yard box in front of the LOS (like last year).

Last year, our offense was inept in preseason and inept in the regular season. Are we seeing anything this year besides tempo that is any different?

the same media who continue to say teams are scared to go to green bay in january to win a playoff game cuz it can not be done

And Seahawk fans are certain they're going to be going to a third SB in a row! Nobody can stop them! It's a juggernaut!

This is a very real post. Not sure if some can handle how real it is.

Outback Jesus should give us better field position.
Just think if we had Hayne instead of KW back then.

I'd have to point out that they're throwing passes to running backs or at least trying to. That doesn't look like last year to me.

And could we stop pretending that some of us "can't handle the truth" or whatever you think is going on here?

Poor guy. You one of the new aussies?

Offenses aren't just QB vs defense. Have the QBs you're mentioning been pressured on more than half their dropbacks? You know the o line has to perform too. You'll learn as the season goes on.

Hahahahahahahahahahayahahahah

Ok so OL is your entire point, yet you're throwing up all these QBs stats and comparing them to Kap?

If you go back and read what I was saying it was about Alex Smith and Bradford getting more attempts in one game than Kap has had in 3.

It didn't make sense to me that they only played 5 snaps in the first game. Jim Toms excuse was he took Staley out so Kap was coming out. Then he changes the OL around to "try and figure some thing out, and all that stuff" and has Kap standing back there getting smashed because he can't change the call in the last game?

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
With such a big turnover in players and coaches, I am happy with the preseason coaching decisions. Putting certain players in pressure situations to evaluate their performance was a smart thing to do. Not divulging the offensive play book to allow opponents a chance to game plan against us was a wise decision. The preseason is the only chance the coaching staff has to determine what players can and cannot do without losing ground in the standings. I know. Captain obvious. But some of the posters here are grinding their teeth over things that weren't a priority for the coaching staff. Maybe the coaches already knew what they could do in the passing game, both short and long, and didn't feel the need to let the rest of the league know that. They also knew early on that they could run well and they backed off from using the first stringers in the run game. Oh ye of little faith...
