Funny you should say that....Lynch was on KNBR yesterday and brought that exact same thing up. He didn't say that it should be done but more of a farfetched thought of if Kaep doesn't produce in 3-4 games, that idea should be kicked around. He also said if other people have thought about that idea, you have to think the front office has thought about it as well. Yes Gabbert has been playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers but Lynch also said that 90% of his passes have been on point. He's shown touch passes into the flat and deep shot connections. I mean remember Gabbert was a top 12 pick in that draft and was considered the most fluent passer in that mix from what Lynch was saying. He just wasn't in the right situation with the Jags.

I'm not saying this should happen but you have to at least put that in the back of your mind if things should start going downhill a month into the season.

Bill talked about benching Joe in a game he the team wasn't doing too great in, in "Finding the Winning Edge." Steve still lost the game, but Bill said it was the right decision at the time.

If Kap is the competitor he should be, wouldn't he fight to get the job back if he was benched? Wouldn't he perform better?

I just want to win. I don't care who's behind center, as long as we win. If that means Kap, great. If that means Gabbert, so be it.

What you see is what you get.

Nothing against Gabbert, lets see him throw against Von Miller and Demarcus Ware. Their pass rush was good, but you were able to run against them, and in preseason we got to see everything, they could of established the run against the broncos if this was a season game, unless your name was Kendall Hunter

So what your saying is Alex is getting more attempts to get ready for the season in one game than Kap has gotten all preseason and as a result is looking more polished. Makes sense.

Bradford is on a new team with a new coach and a new system. Didn't he go 10/10 with 3 scores?

TD's are over rated in preseason. That being said what I do care about is the fact we can't string some first downs together and oline not allowing our QB to even have a chance to make more then one read. So far this offence hasn't show that it can score more then 13-17pts per game this year.

I don't care because obviously the coaches were using preseason to test out certain things.

Stats don't lie, KC is 3-0 in preseason I think they will make the superbowl lol

Nah , as long as the players get familiar with the system and well schooled before the season opener , it's all good ....besides the deep shot to torrey smith in the pre season opener, the offense hasn't ran any stuff that will be used in the regular season , keeping it vanilla is ok ...would have loved to see some nastiness from the O-Line and a few completed 15-20 yard passes from Kaep to the first string receivers though ...

The week before Kap did fairly well, but JJ Watt wasn't in the lineup... I guess what I'm trying to say is, the game planning and schemes had better be on point when the games matter.

Pre season offense fails the eye test.

I'm still sticking to us dropping 24+ on Minnesota in a victory and most of the doom and gloom going away. I don't think Pitt, AZ or GB will put together a stout defensive effort against us either

Do I care about number of points or touchdowns or winning in the pre season? No.

I would have liked to see some nice drives by the offense.

Against Denver the starting offense got 2 first downs in the first half. 1 was because of a Denver penalty.
