they are parasites scavenging off the talent we develop.

That was all holmgren, he knew that rice even in his 40s could still play in the league.
I still wish that JR would have a special conditioning camp for our guys.

not a lot of people can withstand that kind of training or have the motivation to spend every waking moment improving your game. Jerry's mind and body was one of a kind. He would have to tone it down

Yeah Jerry was borderline compulsive disorder with his conditioning. That's the only way to play WR till the age of 40.

It's still ridiculous to think that at age 40, Jerry was a 90 catch 1200 yard guy.

Moss #1 ...SMH... Really dude!

Moss isn't even #2, he has unreal talent but an awful attitude that held him back. How many times did he quit on his teams? Too many to count

1 : Rice
2: Harrison
3: Moss
4: Owens
5. C. Carter
6. S Largent
7. Calvin J
8. Irvin
9. I. Bruce
10. T Brown

All of these guys are elite (Current or future HOFers) so you can't really go wrong with whatever order you place them in....
I'ma go with~

1) Jerry Rice
2) Randy Moss
3) Terrell Owens
4) Lance Alworth
5) Michael Irvin
6) Marvin Harrison
7) Steve Largent
8) Calvin Johnson
9) Cris Carter
10) Tim Brown/ Paul Warfield

Honorable mention Don Hutson

Fair enough, Young and Romo in particular were very good for him. McNabb was good (like most Andy Reid QB's) but TO IMO was clearly the best player in that offense. I thought Garcia benefitted greatly from TO. Dude was still pretty good in Buffalo and Cincinatti.

Solid list. But mine is a little different.

1. Moss
2. Rice

4. Harrison
5. Calvin
6. Irvin

Sorry guys, but based on talent I believe moss is the greatest wr to ever play the game. Give him Montana young and walsh, his career would of played out like Jerry's. I believe Calvin will move up on this list as his career continues but he needs to remain healthy. Harrison is one of the most underrated wrs of all time. Everyone knew he was good, but still undervalued him when discussing him among the greats

Agree to disagree. I appreciate the fact you have Harrison #2 though. Moss didn't have the work ethic Rice had, but he also didn't have as good of a situation, I believe he is more talented. Unfortunately his attitude held him back. He broke rices single season td record the second he got Brady.. U also can't dismiss that his career was 7 years shorter than rice

whats talented? 6'5 4.3 40? Thats one kind of talent. but jerry way tougher way more versatile much more of a craftsman. better receiving technique better adjustments. dude the big picture is all jerry except the measurables.

Exactly.....22 rec TDs in 12 games in 1987. Btw, he had 23 total, he ran one in also. So rice had 23 scores in 12 games.

Also, as to the shorter career, give Jerry major props for being a top flight WR into his 40s. Moss was basically shot by 35 years old.

Rice is the prototype WR at 6'2" 210 pounds (got lighter as he got older to retain speed).

6'4" and higher, well, WR's lose other ability like being able to be an effective slot receiver. Rice was able to be Wes Welker, Calvin Johnson, and Chris Carter all in one. One more trait Rice had was the ability to break tackles.
