Oh yeah he is probably one of the most underrated players of all time, he was very productive under holgrem

1. Jerry

2. Moss
3. Owens
4. Irvin

I'm younger than a lot of you guys but this is how I see it In my short time watching the game. Guys like Brown, Carter, and Harrison were good for a long time and put up some numbers, but I don't put them on the same tier as these stallions. Shocked to see so many of you guys take Tim Brown and Harrison over Owens. I grew up on TO and hated Irvin when young so that might affect my rankings. Calvin will be very high on here soon.

That's a pretty good list homer, yeah Owens a great talent but all time great as a team member is well below par which for me is just another part of team sport, he'd be top ten for me but so many great team leaders for me and Brown the ultimate leader and team came first
Plus was just going to add Tim Brown had great numbers with very poor qbs while Owens had guys like Steve Young, Romo, Garcia and McNabb throwing to him while there's a big difference to Browns qbs in Gannon, Hostetler and Marinovich, just though I'd add that bit of info

Solid list. But mine is a little different.

1. Moss
2. Rice
3. Owens
4. Harrison
5. Calvin
6. Irvin

Sorry guys, but based on talent I believe moss is the greatest wr to ever play the game. Give him Montana young and walsh, his career would of played out like Jerry's. I believe Calvin will move up on this list as his career continues but he needs to remain healthy. Harrison is one of the most underrated wrs of all time. Everyone knew he was good, but still undervalued him when discussing him among the greats

Moss #1 ...SMH... Really dude!

Moss isn't even #2, he has unreal talent but an awful attitude that held him back. How many times did he quit on his teams? Too many to count

1 : Rice
2: Harrison
3: Moss
4: Owens
5. C. Carter
6. S Largent
7. Calvin J
8. Irvin
9. I. Bruce
10. T Brown

I like to think that if he had played out his career here, 49ers history would have been totally different.

Don Hutson should really be on this list if we are going back that far.
Ok, Joe and Steve are my two favorite players of all-time (hence the 816 in my name tag) so I wouldn't deminish them in any way. But this notation that Jerry was a product of just them is ridiculous. It was a mutually beneficial relationship obviously.

Pre knee injury, there was 4 times (1986, 1991, 1995 & 1996) that Jerry had a starting QB that wasn't joe or Steve for an extended period of time. This sample encompasses 21 games and the QBs were Kemp, Bono and Grbac. In this 21 games Jerry had the following numbers:

122 catches
1932 yards
20 tds

Those per games averages are 5.8 catches per game and 92 yards per game. All these numbers exceed his niner career numbers of 5.4 catches per game and 81 yds per game. So if you projected a 16 games season with just his numbers with the likes of kemp, Bono, and Grbac staring Jerry's season would be 93 catches 1472 yards and 15 tds. Idk, kinda seems like Jerry got his regardless of who was behind center.

Great Point, and you could argue that Jerry is responsible for elevating both Grbac and Bono to the point that the Cheifs brought them in as starters under decent contracts for their time.

Anyone that remembers watching those games, knows the reason we survived extended periods without joe and Steve was because we had the greatest WR ever to hang out hat on. Look no further than that '95 Dallas game....5-4 entering the game, coming off of back to back loses to an expansion Carolina and NO team and playing at our biggest rival who was 8-1 and looking for pay back. 81 yards later on the first drive and all is good in niner land.
