The way the TE's were used was already miles above how HarRoman used players' abilities in the passing game.

Deep shots. Passes to the RB's as outlets and primary receivers, McDonald, Bell and Celek in the calls, short-quick passes vs. 5-7 step drops and nothing but sideline go-routes, etc. Granted there was no 'game planning' but you can see already we'll be balanced in run/pass and in the passing game, utilizing all the skill players and attack vertical as well as horizontal. As a fan, you have to be stoked about that little sample...ohhh, and tempo and clock management!

lol

What's your point? Starters only played one series. You can still see schemes and concepts used even with backup personnel. Also, Who said anything about putting any one in the HOF?

Jcool making it sound like this coaching staff is far better and schemed to use the TE in the first pre season game. I'm just making fun of the fact I think that's a bit silly.

The backup QB's usually throw a lot to the backup tight ends because that's who they have practiced with the most and it's harder for the backup WR who haven't played a lot to get open.

just because a TE gets a pass thrown his way doesn't mean he was the primary target for the play called

You mean blocking...i.e. blew out McDonald's back; required surgery at 25 years old.

Backup QB's in preseason under JH still didn't throw to the TE's.

No you see when VD is knocking sure TD catches away from Vance it's Harbaugh's fault.

once again another thread turns into this

Were you especially happy with the Harbaugh offense? Was Harbaugh all you expected as an offensive guru?

I think people place far too much blame on just Harbaugh. It was a snow ball effect that didn't help the offense last year.
For three years the offense avg around 24 ppg. Right up until the blowout to Denver. After that they avg. about 17 ppg.

In the 8 losses the team turned the ball over 15 times. In the 8 wins only 7 turnovers. That's not a coaches fault. The musical OL didn't help. The injuries didn't help. Players not playing smart. Sure the coaches are somewhat to blame. Using the excuse that the HC is why we didn't have a good season last year is just silly.

Just tired of all the excuses. Just go out and play football.
it wasn't just last year , harbaugh's peewee football was here for 4 years

oh now we're blaming injuries on the coaches

If it's under 2-2.5 seconds that's usually an indication of a primary receiver. If not, it could be an indication of COACHING. Notice how the QB's were going through a progression or two and then if not there, quickly coming back down to the RB's in the passing game (i.e. Hayne)?

Yup...when you take a 260 pound young kid who played slot WR his entire career and ask him to block 99% of the time against 300+ pound DE/DT's, it's just a matter of time! There is a reason HaRoman didn't ask VD to block a whole lot once Vance came on board...saving him for the passing game.

the offense avg 24 ppg from 2011-2013 and the first 6 games of 2014?

the teams to win the SB the past five years have avg 24ppg+ with good defenses allowing only around 14ppg

No one is willing to say that we had a bunch of injuries and bad luck and crappy play and coaching mistakes. Everyone just wants to place the blame on the coaches.

They lost as a team and won as a team.
