he was and now bowman has to take that lead,, and others need to step up like we have seen from bethea and dockett . the leadership of patrick is hard to replace,, it can only be succeeded by others and i am sure it will be. plus you know people like him and country can come back and visit anytime they want. the are x niners and are welcomed into niner headquarters under this regime, thank god

Jim Harbaugh

I agree!

How is he not at least ON the list?
if it were the 2011 or 2012 or even the 2013 version then you put him on the list. last year we saw how his inability or unwillingness to change and adapt and his brand of football and rah rah college shtick had hit the wall . but since i am nice, it is fine for some of you to put him on the list. its just many of us would not. hell he never let x niners in the facility because he felt threatened by their legacy so why should i put him on some list of x people

I understand he's a polarizing figure but the question is "Who was the biggest loss" so he should be there. I think we'd all agree he's a bigger loss to the team than, say, SKUTA?

Fangio is X100 bigger loss compared to Harbaugh. Not even close.

But overall, to define "loss" one also needs to look at what's currently in place and decide for yourself whether there is, in fact, a loss (some may actually end up being a GAIN)...and right now, it's probably way too early to judge. It's a fun thing to speculate though.

nah, there you go thinking too much again

Willis was the team captain and leader he's gone HUGE loss
Played 20 out the last 32 Reg Season games..he is a loss

but being on the sidelines wont help us

? this thread isn't justifying why he's not here or how he could be if he didn't retire

the injury and fact he did retire is a HUGE loss

Just like Bowman being injured and not playing was our biggest loss last year

imo

That's fair. I think his sideline demeanor cost us some games just because zebra's hated him. Of course people tell me I'm a "whiner" fan when I say that, but if honestly seemed that way sometimes.

As far as being threatened by our past, I can't comment on that. Who didn't he let around? I haven't heard this. Was it practice? Always heard he's extremely paranoid.

That's pretty much it for me as well...and the timing of that "loss" made it even more significant.

The thread is about who you think the biggest loss is and why.

Not a what if Willis was here but injured and on the sideline, which I think is what you implied. Like as if he didn't retire he would be back and hurt again.

Why I think he's the biggest loss is you just can't replace a HOF player that easy.

Then how is X Player a huge loss if they can't perform like they used to , which means its not a huge loss

Lol.

P willy is a pretty sizeable loss. Even a wounded willis is still a badass mlb.

Not to mention leadership, experience, wisdom, work ethic and a great teammate and all around nice guy.
