Does Vernon Davis miss football? Frank Gore says he doesn't even love it!

Everybody see the Instagram posts yet? A picture of Vernon with a football saying he misses it. Then Frank Gore posts a response that it's BS and he doesn't even love it. Like the article says Frank could possibly just be needling VD but I highly doubt it. I just thought it was interesting especially since Frank shared a locker room with him. However, VD played hurt all last year and when I think about Vernon I remember the catch against the Saints and him crying coming off the field. Was he crying because he thought he just hit the jackpot? I doubt it. On the other hand his performances against Seattle and that tough defense have made me wonder just how much he puts on the line when he hits the field. He seems to disappear and suffer from a case of alligator arms when crossing the middle. We all know Vernon is about his brand and wants as much money as he can get but I don't begrudge him because of that. I think he should. However VD is a big part of our O and I just wonder if you can ever win a ring if you don't sell out and leave everything on that field. What do you guys think is VD all in or does he hold just enough back we have not or never will get to see everything he's truly capable off? Or at this point does it even matter anymore?

From the sounds of that comment, it just sounds like he was giving VD crap about his post.

It's called Sarcasm!

Cmon now. we know what VD has done through his career, if he still had that attitude before the singletary era, then i'd say yes.

But everything after that, besides last season with the contract situation, i'm sure he loves the game, he's good at what he does when he commits to it.

and the way he's shown himself this offseason with Willis retiring and saying he wants to win, that right there shows me he's here for the right reasons.

Otherwise, why isn't he still begging for a bigger contract other than his lack of performance from last season, which partially comes from being injured with that lower back, i'd say he's in for the Win.

Obviously you idiot fans defending Vernon didn't watch last season. Hmm, let's see... Holds out all offseason before training camp despite having 2 more years left on his deal, then has the WORST season of his career. Obviously Frank knows something we don't. Seems like Vernon had Jamba Juice more on his mind than "#NFL and #49ers" And more worried about his "brand" than the "#NFL #49ers" Tell it like it is Frank until Vernon proves OTHERWISE!!!

It's not that serious, i was pissed off about him holding out last season, but that's in the past.

Look to what's going on now, and his commitment now, i support VD 100 percent.

Frank G kept it real.

Vernon must have irked him the way he kept talking about his "brand" while the team was losing games.

I think Vernon is hungry tho. Willis, Smith, they both left it all on the field. Vernon has to realize that he's going to have to step up. For the sake of the team and for his reputation.

dont even know why so many fans like VD.. he's all speed that's all.. from the day he stepped in, and he's first catch was a TD, he started believing that he's speed makes him the best TE in football..

then, Samurai Mike didn't help out either by tapping him "the best ever" in time.. .. sheezzz...

all last year, I was posting that had Carrier been given a chance, or Kaep had some trust on Carrier, he woulda woulda put up All Pro type of numbers..
