Carlos Hyde will be the best pick

Baalke is an above average GM but he is not great as people here will have you believe.

The 2015 draft made no sense. I'm glad we did address speed on offense in the off-season though. Wished we had done so earlier and maybe 2014 wouldn't have been such a disaster.

Baalke loves to take risks. Every gm hits and misses but his misses are unnecessary. He gambles on guys in the early rounds when there's better prospects available at the position.

The 2015 seemed like an absolute home run then. Borland tainted the draft, but there's a lot to like with that draft.

yea the james pick i was hoping for Lamar Miller. I thought he was a more of a 3 down back.
the vance mcdonald pick i was SCREAMING for Keenan Allen

Hyde pick i was ok with.


But yea Baalke has done a better job signing guys and trading for guys and knowing when not to pay guys. drafting isnt his strong suit.

MY biggest issue is vey few people can see the forrest through the trees. GMs must be graded on a curve vs their counterparts. All GMs have a huge percentage of busts. Baalke is one of the best in terms of being a talent evaluator. His inability to coincide with the best coach we have had since Walsh and hiring a yes man is a different story...... (yet to be determined)

That was just the first name to pop up.I don't follow other teams gms as much.I know mcdrinkycrow is in Washington.Schneider I n Seattle..etc..I am on the ballke wagon till the wheels fall off.just like I am all in with tomsula.I even quote him in our work pre shift meeting...go miners.I am hoping this and last year's draft.really carry us forward over the next few years

Ozzie was a great answer. Most people consider him one of the best and when you compare him and Baalkes draft record since 2010 Baalke matches up favorably.

I actually think LaMichael James may have been a sore point with TB vs JH. It did seem the LMJ pick was JH, but then JH and Roman never used him to his strength a la Reggie Bush - swing passes, screens, etc. to get him in space. I'd be pretty irritated too if guys like Singletary and Harbaugh demanded players and then failed to use and develop them. Wish we could really know what went on inside the building. Astounding that in all these years there haven't been better tell-all books from inside NFL teams.

Let's not start making excuses for him. He wants to claim all the success here, then ALL the blame lays on him too. There's no Scot M. influence like there was in 2010, no Singletary or Harbaugh to blame on this one. This is ALL on him now. And the pattern on overreaches continues. Unfortunately for Tomsula (and the fans), he'll get fired before Baalke does.
