Agree for the most part but with Bishop over Bellore. Also I think TJE will be traded before he's cut.

I haven't been impressed with White outside of what we hear from practice. He's done nothing in two games.

Bellore is a ST captain and ace (who's just coming back from a pretty bad illness - undisclosed). But he CAN play ILB as well. So he's a lock IMHO.

Yes, I think with the emergence of Purcell and maybe even Okoye, the staff probably feels good about trading TJE if we can find a taker. TJE, Celek, Hunter, etc.

White is an excellent returner (just overshadowed by Hayne right now) and is the perfect slot WR. We haven't 'featured' him too much but he's gonna make this team esp. with Simpson and Smelter on (suspension and PUP).

Vance's pre season is prob done. Depending on how bad he sprained his ankle. Could be Vd, Celek and Bell. With Vance on the pup if it's a high ankle sprain.

God I hope not! He's been catching everything the past 3 weeks and in games and his blocking has been stellar. MM said he appears fine..no ankle taped, still on the sidelines in uniform, cleats on, etc. Hopefully it's just a mild injury. Tank I'm more worried about.

NC--like your roster very much! There will be some very hard decisions but some versatility will help--Ward and Tartt can play multiple spots, five guys can play center...much more freedom in this roster than any time in recent memory allows them to keep a couple of ST guys (McCray, Hayne, Skov?)

  • S: McCray did very well on ST yesterday and I just can't see Dahl (who is 30) taking his spot. Bethea, Reid, Ward, and Tartt. If Dahl stays it may be at the expense of an ILB and Tartt could be used more at that hybrid spot.
  • RB: I see them keeping four--Hyde, Bush, Davis and Hayne. Hayne will be too valuable on STs to cut and may develop as a beast at RB. Love the way Davis hits the hole! Afraid Hunter will be odd man out.
  • FB: Haven't see Millard much and wonder if they are trying to keep him under wraps to slip in the PS. Miller has been playing well...any worry about a suspension?
  • WR: Think your six are gold and there may be an injury that opens up a spot for Simpson later on. Smelter could make this a problem if he's early.
  • OL: Devey and Brown may loose out to a more helpful Farrell or ? This depends on Thomas or Boone backing up Pears.
  • DL: Think you can lock your list unless there is an injury.
  • LB: If they keep nine who gets the last spot--Lemon, Wheeler or Skov (who Mangini loves)?
  • CB: Love the young guys--Johnson, Acker and Reaser! With Brock and Wright this could be a strong group. So do they keep Dahl or another CB? Nice problem to have!

Since u think Bellore is worth keeping around just because of what he brings to the ST unit. What about my boy Bishop? He had a heck of a game N showed he still has it. He has always been a good backer but injuries caught up to him. Right now he looks healthy N ready to make plays if called upon. I would much rather have Bishop taking over at MLB then Bellore, he has more experience in that department. Bellore can just go chase the ball carriers on ST. How bout that???

Agreed...like dtg's epic post above, still a few things to watch closely. And Before, Wheeler, Stop and Bishop no doubt is one of those battles to watch closely. But keep in mind ST coach will get a say in the roster too, Bellore was brought in and paid to play ST for us and Tarty and McCay are essentially hybrid ILB/SS's for us too vs the more traditional ILB's we're used to seeing.

I don't think you missed a single position battle and remaining question!

Let's hope it's not a high ankle sprain!

You are right i totally forgot Tartt N McCray can both line up at those positions. Yeah in order for Bishop to make the team he probably has to do his best Bowman impression N really get all the defensive coaches attn. As for Wheeler that dude doesn't stand a chance injuries will cost him a chance to make this team.

BTW please dont bring up the possibility of Baby Dahl making the team AGAIN!!!!. That's a scary thought.

Only Bishop in the mix at LB! LOL! I sort of take this position lightly as Mangini seems to really like Skov. Is it true love? Or just a TC fling?

I've been saying for the last two years Dahl won't make it. Are. Great ST ace but damn.

I like Bishop and Wheeler too. But there is a good chance we can call either back later in the season of need be.

He's a try hard guy with good instincts but he's too slow. Then again we are use to Willis and Bowman. I worry about Wilhoite in coverage during the regular season and Skov isn't on his level. I think the reason Dahl stayed so long is because he's a try hard, versatile guy who is a vet leader. You see that in every sport where managers favor try hard (coach like) players over guys with more talent who might have an attitude or might not try or care as much. As for LB I think Bowman, Wilhoite and Moody are 1-3. It's a matter of do we keep 4 or 5 and is Bellore a lock for ST. Wheeler is probably out of the picture after not getting any playing time due to injury. I think it will either be Bowman, Wilhoite, Moody, Bellore or Bowman, Wilhoite, Moody, Skov/Bishop, Bellore. I'd go with Bishop because I trust him come regular season more than skov but he's also a lot older. Either way if we are smart we are taking a ILB in rounds 2/3 next year to upgrade from Wilhoite. We should also re-sign wilhoite for 2-3 years at backup money if he will take it. Next year should be Bowman, 2nd/3rd rd, Wilhoite, ?, Bellore
