What merits Wheeler over a proven vet like Desmond Bishop?

Dude hasn't been seen at practice since mini camp ended.

Neither deserve a spot over Nick Bellore IMO.

Obviously, I agree. ^^^

Agreed. People made the same mistake with Skuta when we signed him. Don't underestimate Bellore. He could be our best special teamer.

Definitely, same happened with Blake Costanzo, he made a nice impact his first year.

I like Bellore, and McCray as our top ST'ers.

Wait until we have McCray and Tartt coming down the field as gunners! Someone is losing their head!

Updating What My 53 Would Look Like:

-25 Offense-
QB: Kap, Gabbert
RB: Hyde, Bush, Davis, Hayne
FB: Miller, Millard
OL: Staley, Boone, Kilgore, Martin, Pears, Looney, Thomas, Brown, Silberman
TE: Davis, McDonald, Bell (celek or busta anderson could make it as well)
WR: Smith, Boldin, Patton, Ellington, White (Simpson to suspended list doesn't count)

-25 Defense-
DL: Dorsey, Williams, Dial, Carradine, Dockett, Armstead, Purcell (possibly Okoye)
ILB: Bowman, Wilhoite, Moody, Bellore (ST only)
OLB: Lynch, Brooks, Harold, Lemonier
CB: Brock, Johnson, Ward, Wright, Reaser, Acker
S: Reid, Bethea, Tartt, McCray

-3 ST-
K: Dawson P: Pinion LS: Nelson

Toughest cuts: Hunter, Celek, Okoye (possibly Purcell)
Maybe we can IR the player who get's cut between Okoye or Purcell and also Busta Anderson or maybe Dres Anderson. Lots of hang nails injuries going around.

You didn't count Kilgore on your lineman, is he on IR?

Yes sir...on the PUP.
Of your cuts, who could we keep on the PS if they cleared waivers?
Reasar and Hayne would both be awesome gunners too.

Hmmm. Now that I can't answer with confidence. That's a question for DeUh or another. I'm thinking Okoye, Purcell & Skov.

Is Okoye still eligible?

I believe so, he spent his rookie year on IR i believe, and 2014 on the P-Squad, so he still should have 1-2 years left, I think the NFL raised it to 3 years max on the P-Squad last year when they expanded to 10 players.
