Quit yo whining! It's freedom of speech..hahaha..btw that's your 1st amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Freedom of speech doesn't apply at work genius. Try telling your boss or a customer to F-off or try to express your political beliefs at work to the point it disupts the business and alienates your co-workers. You're a professional and leave your personal s**t at home.

Lol...actually it does apply at work genius. When you're ready to quit. That's still freedom of speech, but you can actually find a professional way to say F-off to your boss or a costumer, you just gotta figure it out on your own since you're the genius.
Actually it isn't freedom of speech if you can't do it without a consequence. Having to quit your job in order to make a gesture for your feeble ego to feel better is not a freedom. But then again maybe in your chosen career path of "do you want fries with that burger" it is customary to do that. But I suspect that your co-workers at Wendy's would still expect you to act like a professional, stfu and leave your personal s**t at home.

It is awesome, a long time coming. I will enjoy it while it lasts.

Hes protesting the wrong thing, like an idiot. Its an insult to all the black people serving in the military and fighting for that same flag.

Hey Kap, protest against racists, not this country you numbskull.

I agree with the bold, but I think the importent piece is that Randy Cross thinks Kaepernick is a better social activist than he is a quarterback. If that's true, it doesn't say much about his skills as a quarterback.

I have no problem with Kaepernick expressing his opinions on racial issues or taking a stand. I think his position can help bring a lot of extra light to it and additional much-needed discourse. But, if he wants to be a champion for social issues, he needs to get his head on straight and do his job on the field well. 20 years from now, no one will remember him for taking a stand if he's sitting on the bench. He needs to be the dynamic athlete that lit up the league in 2012, and he needs to pick the timing of his protests better.

As it is, his play on the field will have him relegated to a back-up role or off the team, which won't do much for his social concerns.

The problem is, most everyone who is saying "He has the right to protest what he wants" is really just agreeing with him without wanting to get crap for it.

Just because you're famous and have a platform doesn't mean you should be using it to express social or political opinions. Kap is a football player. His opinion on Black Lives Matter is irrelevant IMO. STFU and try to learn the playbook.

Its like as soon as some athletes learn they have a platform, they think people want to hear their thoughts on stuff that has nothing to do with the reason theyre famous.

I think you and I are in agreement for the most part. However, I think his position as an NFL quarterback can be used t bring attention to social issues if done right and if he's performing his job on the field well.
Oh Hai guise....whats going on in this thread?

I support Kap, He's protesting in a way that has no effect on anyone else yet He is getting big attention for what he is doing. He'll be black way longer than he is a footballer. Why are so many folks up in arms about his protest rather than what he is Protesting against.

I think on some level that may be what Kap and his circus crowd want. To distract from the fact he is no longer a viable starting QB.

To take focus off his poor play and make things about people "hating" kaepernick.

IMO the focus should be on what he does on the field, although his political stunt was on the field, or bench, I think what he does or doesnt do in the pocket is more important.

What matters is his inability to lead this offense to the endzone. I don't care if Kap is a third world Maoist, a 9/11 conspiracy theorist or Black Panther. What I care about is his inability to be a viable starting QB for the 49ers.

It's time to move on- not based on his political views but based on his play from the pocket.

I feel he needs to be performing better to n the field to make his stand off of it more noteworthy.

But he should be educated about it first. There are actually a TON of recorded cases of police brutality against white people, but the media doesn't make a story of it. Doesn't fit their narrative.

A white guy was face down on the ground with his hands on his head, and a white police officer shot him to death for no reason. Nobody ever heard about it.

Common sense tells you that if the majority of police were truly racist, and out to kill black people, there would be thousands of black men killed by police every year, not a handful.

This issue is about poorly trained cops on power trips going into dangerous situations while nervous and armed. When a guy goes to his wallet, and they blow him away, thats because theyre jumpy and poorly trained. Its not because they all put hands into a huddle and yell "kill blacks on 3....1-2-3 kill blacks!" and then break for their patrol cars to start the shift.

Cops make everyone nervous. When white people get pulled over they dont do a secret white guy handshake with the officer and get a "sorry brother, be on your way!"

The black community needs to stop internalizing everything and focus on improving their own community. Stop rioting over a half dozen cop shootings, and start fixing the hundreds of thousands of black on black shootings that happen around the clock.

He wanted this attention. I read his twitter feed and a post he retweeted on the 17th makes everything obvious.

I'm not going to give him what he wants. I'm going to keep the criticism based on his poor play from the pocket. Based on his long term decline in the passing game.

Kap saying or doing dumb stuff if nothing new. I dont care what he says or does outside of the pocket. If Kap played like Tom Brady he could salute North Korea for all I care.

If he could lead Chip Kelly's offense into the endzone more often than Gabbert then he should start. If he cant he should accept it and do his job, whatever that may be. Wherever that may be (in the future).

As of now Kaepernick is most likely a back-up QB in the NFL. He is in that position because he is not a good passer. He just got beat out by Blaine Gabbert. He has more issues than a political stunt. He needs to become a good passer or will be out of the NFL within a year or two.
