A QB is just one of them. I personally don't want a team where the QB has to carry them because that means the team is s**t.
Even the best QB's need a good team around them. Why Kaep is being bashed for not being able to perform with a bad team is mindboggling. He sucked as did everyone else INCLUDING the chosen one, Blaine. There's a reason the team went out and revamped the oline. Kaep has performed in the playoffs when his team did not. This is a guy who went on the road and HELPED the team win playoff games. He seemed to have SUCCEEDED when the supporting cast was NOT stellar so what exactly are you talking about?

People who hate Kaepernick seem to rewrite history a ton. Like the idea that Kap was carried by our defense in 2012 is an absolute joke. Our defense was horrendous down the stretch and through the playoffs in 2012. The only reason we made the Superbowl was because of Kaepernick.
He has majorly regressed, but that doesnt change what he was.
It kills them to admit Kap carried us because their favorite player has never carried a team at any point in his career lol. All anyone should know is that the 49ers ended up losing and everyone should hate Kap for carrying us to that point, and that their boy ends up losing every year too but nobody should hate him for it.
Kap fans still talking about 2012 as if that's somehow relevant. If you have to go back to 2012 to defend Kap that alone should tell you he's done. Enjoy the nostalgia.

Tell that to Tom Brady. He has been carrying the New England offense for years

Point I'm making is simply stating that the 49ers were good on both sides of the ball and that one side didn't carry the other, they go hand in hand. But like I said let's disregard the 49ers defense you're right it was ALL Kap that carried the team. Smh
So they were top 5 for their postseason performance?
They were not very good in the postseason. Kap carried them through the GB game and that's not debatable. Our defense did put the clamps down in the 2nd half vs the Falcons though. And then looked like s**t again in the biggest game of their livesI don't think we even got close enough to breathe on Flacco

Kaepernick was benched because of poor play, which was due, in part, to his injuries. However, it was also due to the fact he had poor coaching, a bad offensive scheme and he has not progressed as a pocket passer.
Bottom line: Kaepernick was benched for a lot of reasons, but the main factor was that he was not performing as everyone had hoped.
Originally posted by 49ers81:This is another myth that keeps getting passed around. In Kaepernick's first game against Chicago Aldon Smith gets 5 sacks and I think there were a couple by other players as well. The defense completely shut down the Chicago offense. The Niners pound the ball with Frank Gore and Kaepernick hits one long pass to Kyle Williams and all of the sudden everybody oohs and aahhs because gosh, Alex Smith never throws passes like that. Next game against New Orleans the defense gets what, about 12 picks off of Brees and they pound the ball with Gore, Kaepernick avoids any turnovers, and Ahmad Brooks seals the game with a pick six. All of the sudden everybody is creaming over Colin Kaepernick because he hit one long pass and managed to win two games behind one of the best defenses in the league. The rest of the year opposing defenses are trying to catch up to the Pistol formation and Kaepernick makes them look silly on occasion with his legs. Everybody oohhs and aahhhs, oh he's the next generation of QB in the NFL, overlooking for the moment that he has already started his string of horrendous play against the Seahawks. He has one shining moment in that season where he manages to come from a score behind New England after blowing them out in the first half but then Cowboy gets hurt, the rush isn't as good which hurts the corners and safeties which allows Brady to come roaring back. New England goes ahead and LaMichael James makes his one contribution as a 49er by running the ensuing kick off back 60 yards to set up Kaepernick at the New England 40 and to his credit he hits Crabtree for a TD on the next play. Then to his credit he lights up the Packers with his legs because they keep letting him get outside their containment and run for a jillion yards. So Kaepernick's reputation is built essentially on having completed two long passes and making some good runs when opposing teams were still trying to figure out how to defense the Pistol. They get to the Super Bowl and instead of going with a QB who was in the top of five of every metric used to judge QB play in the NFL and had many years of game experience under his belt, Harbaugh decides to go with the "hot hand" of his young QB with all of what 9 starts and thus becomes the first 49er head coach in history to lose a Super Bowl. To which my response has always been f**k Harbaugh and f**k Kaepernick

Please don't blame JUST the defense in that game, there were a lot of factors as to why the 49ers loss the Super Bowl. Again, unfrickin believable the bias opinions in here.
Definitely a lot of factors. Coming out unprepared (penalty on the 1st play of the game). The fumble by James killed some early momentum. Kap had a turnover. But our defense sucked, every time we needed to make a play, we couldn't get off of the field. We couldn't get anywhere close to Flacco all game and that's unacceptable for a "top 5" defense. The offense at least looked good quite a few times in that game. The defense looked bad, damn near all game
But our defense sucked, every time we needed to make a play, we couldn't get off of the field.
