Did they or did they not suffer injuries that made them play like a bottom 5 defense?

Where you going with this, I think your totally missing the point of my post.

I'm not sure they did, unless we're talking about 2014.

Pretty sure the Falcons kicked our asses in the first half of the 2012 NFCCG, Ravens got the jump on us as well in the Super Bowl.

Yes let's disregard the top 5 defenses he had.

That top 5 defense was hurt and gave up a sliver under 30 points a game for the last 6 games of the season (including playoffs).

Try again, please.

The absolutely did NOT have a top 5 defense when it mattered. Like has been repeated ad nauseam, we gave up 29.6 points per game the last 6 games of the season.....you know....the games that really matter.

If a team gave up 29.6 points per game over the course of that season, they would have been ranked DEAD LAST in all of football.

You can call it picking and choosing stats all you want. They were the last 3 regular season games and 3 playoff games. All in a row. Those games matter a bit, wouldnt you say?

Totally missing the point to my original post. Again let's disregard a defense that was 2nd in points allowed in 2012.

People who hate Kaepernick seem to rewrite history a ton. Like the idea that Kap was carried by our defense in 2012 is an absolute joke. Our defense was horrendous down the stretch and through the playoffs in 2012. The only reason we made the Superbowl was because of Kaepernick.

He has majorly regressed, but that doesnt change what he was.

It kills them to admit Kap carried us because their favorite player has never carried a team at any point in his career lol. All anyone should know is that the 49ers ended up losing and everyone should hate Kap for carrying us to that point, and that their boy ends up losing every year too but nobody should hate him for it.

Kap fans still talking about 2012 as if that's somehow relevant. If you have to go back to 2012 to defend Kap that alone should tell you he's done. Enjoy the nostalgia.
Kap is the like the wildcat, once it was seen enough and it didn't evolve it died

Kaepernick is done being successful in the NFL, why can't people come to terms with that

What's my point that I'm trying to make then?

Hmm? I'm counting about 25.3 points per game the defense gave up, at least with regards to the 2012 postseason. 24 points in the Packers game, 24 against the Falcons, and 28 against the Ravens. I don't care one way or the other about all this since it's in the past, but if we're going to focus on facts, I think it might help a bit to get that corrected.

Can we find a team that even made it to the SB giving up 25 a game? Kap carried us, it's ok to admit it guys

Your original post was that we were a top 5 defense in 2012 collectively. Yes, we get that. However, that is not what we were discussing. We were discussing how Kaepernick carried our team down the stretch and through the playoffs. So using that time frame which we were discussing, you chiming in about having a top 5 defense over the course of the season is completely irrelevant.

Wrong!!!

Point I'm making is simply stating that the 49ers were good on both sides of the ball and that one side didn't carry the other, they go hand in hand. But like I said let's disregard the 49ers defense you're right it was ALL Kap that carried the team. Smh

So they were top 5 for their postseason performance?

Again, it's a matter of opinion (and in your case a biased one) on which side of the ball carried who. I'm not saying it was all defense (never did I once state that) all I'm saying it was a team effort in 2012.

Not sure why you're getting defensive and telling me. Like I said, I don't care really care since it's in the past, I'm just fixing up a bit of a misconception.
