I wonder if he realizes that the browns don't think he's worth his current contract? dude needs a reality check

He's only worth like $8M a year

If a team is going to pay him 12 mill, plus give up low round picks, there's no way he's not going to be a starter. That's a big risk imo. If Kaep doesn't meet expectations you are out a lot of assets.

I think Kaep has really hurt himself here.

Not necessarily. Teams who want Kap won't offer much because they think we may just cut him. If we keep Kap on the team after April 1st, then his trade value increases because teams absolutely can't have him now unless it is a trade.

smith had over 40 mil in the bank before he left the niners, kaep has around 12 mil because his current contract only had 12 mil guranteed

his value decreases because he'll probably hold out and not even show up for training camp

I think Chip could infuse some of his college pedigree into the offense and really help Kaep out. But if he doesn't want to be a niner anymore good riddance.

NFL is very much a "what have you done for me lately" league. Fine, don't budge and watch yourself be demoted to 3rd string QB on the Niners next year. Kap's call I guess. Starter or 3rd stringer? I think he should change his last name to Stoogernick.

call me crazy, but i don't mind if he stays either... I would really like him to succeed under Kelly. At the very least, compete with Gabbert and may the best man win.

Kap will be in a 49 er uniform for at least a year. 49ers won't cut him, browns need him to reduce his salary, money is important enough to kap that he's not budging.

Makes no sense to keep him since he doesn't want to be here. Especially after April 1

I really think that is his and our best chance for next season, but like people have said if he doesn't want to be here then that could have a negative impact on the team next season.

I won't give up on Kap until he is gone. I know the guy can play at a high level, I've seen it.
