This is a fair question but one could argue that Smith (I assume you mean Aldon) was the architect of his own demise, Crabtree was never going to stay and Gore was past 30 and the team was ready to move on. Of the three he is the one I might have thought could have stayed but he probably believed he was going to a contender when he signed with the Colts and maybe saw that window was closing the Niners. Personally I think there is enough blame to go around but for me it starts with Harbaugh's decision to go with Kaepernick over Smith, I really think that was the beginning of the end for a lot of reasons. But that's just one man's opinion.
I just don't understand why everbody got the blame and Kap got a 100+ M 5 year extension...
This is bad business

Kap still wants to get paid, I guess.
Should've not openly requested a trade then. Seems like awful advice by his agent to go public with his trade request. Sorry to bring #11 into this but I'm sure 49ers could have worked something that suited all party's if they would've kept this private. They gave #11 xhoices. Now both sides are in a lose lose.

No doubt! If I'm Kap, I'd jump all over the fact that the Browns are pretty much offering him a starting QB job. Screw the money!!! Play for less and have enough confidence to know that if you do a good job, the Browns will reward you with a long term contract. Think long term vs. short term!!!!
Kap will cut off his own nose to spite his face. Let's get this done!!!!!!!!!!
He already has played well and signed a contract.

I think it very well could have made the decision a lot easier for some players. Why put your body on the line for that?
Why not request a trade?
Maybe they didn't want to start over somewhere. I don;t think it was the sole reason for any of them, just that it was likely a factor. Don't you think some might have reconsidered if the 49ers were a SB contender rather than headed to the basement?
I disagree, I think the fact tat the team was in disarray and clearly headed for the basement with an out of touch FO could very well have played a part in their decisions. Willis might have had more passion if he hadn't watched Jed, Paraag and Baalke send the team into the crapper.

The 49ers had the ball first and goal at the five yard line with a chance to win and Kaepernick couldn't get it done. No other argument really matters. I remember reading an article at the time by one of the beat writers that alleged that Kaepernick had checked out of the play called all three times to try and throw that stupid fade to Crabtree. I remember it because it really is the only answer that makes sense. No matter what anyone thought of Greg Roman as a play caller, there is no way he calls that same play three times in a row. When you're on the five and the game is on the line you have to give the ball to Frank at least once. That's why all of this "oh, Kaeperrnick led us to the Super Bowl and a championship game" talk makes me nuts. A) Alex Smith had a large part to do with that first Super Bowl run, it's not as if Kaepernick did it on his own and B) When he got to the second championship game the Seahawks kicked his ass, like they usually do. I am so ready for this guy to be gone.
thank u

Working with Brady Hoke talent, I think his zone schemes has worked pretty well imo, can't wait til he gets the players he needs to fit his scheme.

Kap will be in a 49 er uniform for at least a year. 49ers won't cut him, browns need him to reduce his salary, money is important enough to kap that he's not budging.

It seems like nothing will get done today if anything at all...The longer this drags out, the worse it looks.
