I think Goff could do great in this scheme. You need a quick thinker with a quick trigger and good accuracy most of all.

Some of the top analysts see the quick thinking as his most important skill - he was evidently very smooth hitting receivers coming out of their breaks at the combine.

I think it very well could have made the decision a lot easier for some players. Why put your body on the line for that?

Why not request a trade?

Maybe they didn't want to start over somewhere. I don;t think it was the sole reason for any of them, just that it was likely a factor. Don't you think some might have reconsidered if the 49ers were a SB contender rather than headed to the basement?

this is a whole new game, a real division with defenses

chip already went against seattle and got shut down the previous year

the system is not confusing, they just run the plays faster

The system doesnt have to be confusing. You just have to be able to execute well. The defense is always at a disadvantage. They may think they know what play is coming but only the offense knows for sure.

Kelly runs a precision offense, when you lack that precision, it becomes pretty vanilla and everything starts with the quarterback.

This idea that his offense has been "figured out" doesnt hold up to any real scrutiny. Its still an effective offense but as with any good offense, you need good players.

The offense he ran last year was also markedly different from the one he ran his first two seasons due to OL changes.

He has shown the ability to adapt and adjust, he has never had the right QB thus far in the NFL. Maybe that changes with the 49ers.

only a few coaches get the right qb for their system. his offense better work because if your handing these teams in the nfc west the time of possession your asking for a lot of losses

If a player said they don't want to play for the 49ers, how does that make the 49ers look like the bad guy?

It makes them look like an unattractive destination which some already believe they are due to the FO turmoil, leaks and backstabbing as well as Chip's baggage.

It is clear you hate Kaepernick and anyone that finds any value in him. Wish you would try use arguments instead of emotional hatred.

If you slam Kap, are not really telling us Gabbert is the answer? Or are you banking on the draft? I have read many reports that call this a weak QB class. Last time I heard that is when Bortles and Geno Smith led the draft. Geno Smith II here we come.

You are so sure that putting Kap behind first rate line will result in awful play even though history says otherwise? Harbaugh thinks very highly of him as does 3 others teams are seriously bidding for him unlike Gabbert last year. Gabbert had two bad years (or 3?) and was cut. Only Niners made any kind of offer.

also the rest of the divison adapted to harbaugh and he never adjusted, seattle is the greatest example, they built their team stop romans run game and they did it after 2012

I agree. In retrospect, I think Harbaugh was over-rated. His game-time demeanor drove me up the wall and it didn't look like he was scheming during games - just screaming at the refs and patting guys on the butt.

LOL pretty much
He traded yet?

Damn what i taking so long to get Kap ass to Cleveland? greedy ass Agents
I guess its a goo fit for Kap playing in Cleveland.

Most disfunctional franchise in football for decades

Also, that's not what Harbaugh did. He did NOT change the offense to fit Kaepernick's strength. We all know what he did - he tried to mold Kaepernick into a straight ahead pocket passer. He told him to stay there. I would call Harbaugh's offense simple, not traditional. Now, maybe he purposely made it simple because he didn't think Kaepernick could run a complicated one - we don't really know - some of us pretend to know.

And I don't know how many times people need to point this out before people start remembering it, but Harbaugh was angling for the Michigan job as early as the summer before his last season with the Niners. And Harbaugh's people were working out contract details when there were still five or six games left in the regular season. Can we please stop pretending that this is all on the Niners and Harbaugh is squeaky clean in this thing?

Are these facts or speculation???? If so please show me the facts that he was angling the Michigan job? News to me and I'm a Michigan fan.

"I was told I wouldn't be the coach anymore. And then ... you can call it 'mutual,' I mean, I wasn't going to put the 49ers in the position to have a coach that they didn't want anymore."

No doubt! If I'm Kap, I'd jump all over the fact that the Browns are pretty much offering him a starting QB job. Screw the money!!! Play for less and have enough confidence to know that if you do a good job, the Browns will reward you with a long term contract. Think long term vs. short term!!!!

Kap will cut off his own nose to spite his face. Let's get this done!!!!!!!!!!

No. As I said on the bottom of the last page. Justin was pondering retirement for a year or two prior. Borland just didn't want to play. AD was walking around with his head in the clouds for months after his concussion, Willis was breaking down and lost his passion.

This is a fair question but one could argue that Smith (I assume you mean Aldon) was the architect of his own demise, Crabtree was never going to stay and Gore was past 30 and the team was ready to move on. Of the three he is the one I might have thought could have stayed but he probably believed he was going to a contender when he signed with the Colts and maybe saw that window was closing the Niners. Personally I think there is enough blame to go around but for me it starts with Harbaugh's decision to go with Kaepernick over Smith, I really think that was the beginning of the end for a lot of reasons. But that's just one man's opinion.
More than just one man's opinion!
