sure they say let him compete..but Devey is just taking reps from some other potential depth...let alone starter.
he might look good in practice against and some how get the starting gig...then look horrible during the real games... then finally replaced after he has an impact on the early part of the season.
NO f**kING REASON should Devey get tendered.

We will see how it works out but this is a very bad business move for Kap IMO
......but I think Kap is right there with them, but for different reasons.

But why does WILSON get excused as NOT being one himself?
If you were to go through highlights of Wilson making plays that BobS says Kap cannot do, I doubt you'll find many of them, if any.
And I use WILSON, because he's played in two SBs off the backs of great Ds.

Nah, Wilson is drizzling shlts from the pocket too...he is just more elusive than Kap in small spaces so he over comes his bad instincts and pour funadamentals a little more often. That 2-3 more big plays a game combined with still having a great D and running game is just enough to keep his rep going.

Wilson is a decent pocket passer, but like Kap, he relies on certain team elements to make his game work. Like...
• an effective running game to assist with play action (Hawks are the best play action team in the league, Lynch/Rawls definitely help with that)
• good protection from the offensive line
• second chance plays, which are what the Zone had started to call "sandlot plays" for Kap
Wilson has amazing pocket presence, much better than Kap in recent years. But if you look at Wilson's 2015 season, his game as a passer really didn't pick up until a speedy-and-able Thomas Rawls replaced an old-and-ineffective Marshawn Lynch at running back. And after Rawls got injured, he was still able to relatively sustain that level of play.
So we have to give Wilson credit here, but it's not a one-man job.
The Seahawks make a living out of sandlot football.

Far from sandlot football......

exactly. Wilson does it with a horrible line and a mediocre receiving group. Kap can't hold wilsons jock. we haven't had a a qb put up those type of numbers around here since Jeff Garcia in the early 2000's.

Wilson has a superior team in every phase. The point is he plays sandlot football.
Funny how Kaep and Wilson had similar numbers a couple years ago. Man, Wilson would have been crapped on if he played here, especially with some of the poor playoff games. Is Russ a better QB than Kaep? Yes he is, but with Russ I see a guy that plays on a team that caters to his strengths instead of trying to make him play a certain way which is why Carroll is regarded as one of the best doing it. He thinks outside the box.
