I agree the FO and fans were harsh at times, but let's not make it sound like Kap was just the victim too ...he had off field stuff with smith's ex,whither or not it's a big deal teammates don't like seeing s**t like that. He never was a leader and from reports wasn't a lock room guy...he hung out with lower level players. I mean have you heard any of his teammates really backup up Kap through all of this stuff? I haven't.

Like you said earlier if their winning none of that matters, but they weren't. Has the team as a whole regressed sure not gonna argue that, but Kap hasn't progressed either like other comparable Qbs in Wilson, Cam, or even bortles. You'd think the way his contract was setup it would set a fire under his ass to not just lift weights but learn the mental aspect more, which he stated in the past he doesn't really care about fundamentals.

I don't think SF gave him all th right tools to be successful but you can't just blame SF and the fans for where Kap is currently he played a good part in that as well.

I think his best chance to reclaim what he could have been is with chip but if he wants a fresh start I'm not gonna hate on him.

So like I said cue the slideshow play some Sarah McLachlan will you remember me and we can talk about what could have been because it's like the ship has sailed

Bortles has had one good year and he has 2 elite wide receivers and a functioning offense. He is better, but you can't simply rate players in a vacuum, it doesn't work that way.

The Kaep ship has sailed....even if you may think he sucks, the organization completely destroyed any value he had. Terrible asset management.

Hey don't put words in my mouth! where I'd I say he sucks??? I've always been a Kap fan.

Bortles has only been in the league for two years lol and almost doubled his stats from year 1 to year 2. I'm looking at comparable players to see growth and they all have.

Elite WRs? one who was a 2nd round pick and look at as a slow possession WR and one wasn't even drafted...you don't think the QB helped with that?

STOP blaming the organization for all of Kap's failures. Yes the team as a whole got worse you won't here me arguing about that, but good players make players around them better not the other way around.

WEAKNESSES
Plays out of the pistol, lacks experience under center. Has not been asked to make NFL progressions and reads. Not quick to check down or hit hot read against the blitz. Misses too many short passes. Doesn't have consistent touch on the deep ball. Release is somewhat elongated and can dip down to sidearm at times.

seems his ability to read a defense has been questioned from the start.
Its been a question from the start yes. Its also not improved in my eyes. Still looks rattled when there's alot of upfront movement as well.

Yep, in short, Kap is a one read and run QB, is just too deeply ingrained. If you don't let him run and if his first option is covered he will panic like a mouse seeing a cat, basically that infamous trademark deer in the headlights look will come to the fore which we have been witnessing game after game.

He has spent 2 years in the NFL and his 2nd season was better than any 49ers QB this century.

I love Googleing Kap, you find so much stuff on how bad he is
One thing I took from that article is what a joke QBR is, they need to trash that, it is also comical they refuse to disclose the formula. It shows Newton's 2015 QBR not much better than Kaepernick, that is laughable.

I guess so... If you take out the 2011-2014 seasons.

I'll take 4,400 yards and 35 TD's behind a shoddy OL over a few QB ratings points

Did "most" of the scouts in the NFL come to a consensus and write that?

Where are the scouts that say he is good? Even when he was playing good there were people picking Abarth his play and how it wouldn't last if he didn't learn how to be a QB
Yes, and people here that said that were called racists and haters. In general Kap fans take any criticism of their hero personal, like you just kicked their dog. Can someone with a degree in psychology explain that? The same people who treat Kap like family will call Vernon Davis (who did play in pro bowls) a vagina. How that makes sense I don't know.

He's better than Steve and Joe combined. We get it.

I guess you would also take 18 INTs and 14 fumbles as well.
Any chance that Cleveland would take Kap and swap 1st and second pick spots? Don't know if it's plausible. Just wondering

f**k him and his whiney ass.

The dude is a scrub anyway. He has been regressing since day one. He doesn't have it. There is no loss, is time to draft a legit franchise QB, folks!!

Valrod was done with this "chump" as soon as he took Alex's job.... it cracks me up when some fans try to play it off like they rooted for a guy.

same posters, same "whiney ass" disses
I will quote this personal attack before it can be changed.

9er fans here would rather have regular season wins than actual playoff wins. Pocket pressence and mechanics (which Blake has struggled with at times) > 3 straight Championship games.

Hope the incumbent puts up big numbers because the bar has been sent by the people here. I want to see 5000 yards passing and 30+ TD's a season. No excuses.
