Ok, Trent Dilfer Brad Johnson, and Jeff Hostetler won Superbowls. If true it wouldn't have been any less effective than whatever he was doing. 5 seasons in and his footwork is still nearly as bad as it was in college.

The defense lead them, followed by the power running game. He just happened to be the QB. He was huge in one playoff game (the Packers), but was barely adequate in many others.

Maybe getting away will teach him how to finally go through his progressions, read a defense, fix his footwork, throw against man coverage and not throw the football 100mph to a guy 10 yards away.
